  1. We can really be proud of Ashleigh but I am sorry you can't even mention her name in the same category as Greg Minnaar.
  2. My diamond vitality was a covid casualty. Must say life is more peaceful not having to worry about points and uploads.
  3. Anyone here became long haulers?
  4. Ive been using Fugit for 10 years in my mtb's as well as off road motorbikes. Cheaper than any other sealant and out performs most of the much more expensive competitors.
  5. I got infected end July. Felt like a flu but was never concerned that its life threatening. At the time my o2 sat was 98% but then developed long covid and o2 sat dropped to 92%. I just didn't get better. Had severe fatigue and brain-fog for months. Beginning of December I took ivermectin for 5 days in a row and my brain fog was gone. O2 sat improved to 94%. Followed up with testing at a sports physician and was diagnosed with fluid on the lungs and started 6 months asthma treatment. Was given the clear to start 30min at 70%hr. Has since managed 1h20 at 70%hr and even a 15min run at 85% without too serious repercussion. Still very far from what I was before covid but grateful that at least I can ride my bike again. They dont know anything yet about long covid and estimate that it can effect 10% of of people who gets the virus.
  6. Anyone here also struggling with long covid? Ive been man down 3,5 months and no end in sight!
  7. You can ride idt with a sling as soon as you have recovered from the anaesthetic
  8. I recall up to 15mm discrepancy is actually normal. I wouldn't bother about 9mm. Mine is 25mm. Rode like that till I was 41. Only then I started experimenting with 18mm raised cleat on my short leg. Took some time to get used to it, especially on the bmx. Just set your saddle height 4mm high for the short leg and 4mm low for the long leg and you good to go!
  9. Not sure about that statement as any repair involves overlapping

  13. I first saw this thread in 2010 and have commented a few times to it. All I want to tell you guys is that time really flies! As now I am doing efforts on my kid's wheel and cant pass anymore! They getting bigger and faster and we are getting older and slower!
  14. my kids started of with 8sp bikes with custom build 18-27 clusters. I put the clusters together from old clusters that `ive taken apart and then just use the 8sp spacers in between. You loose the last cog because you need a 12 or 11 that is grinded down to end the cluster with. this can be overcome using a wider 9 or 10 sp freehub body in order to maintain a full 8sp cluster. As my kids were very young and really battling with the front shifter I converted both to 1 x using bmx cranks and blades with a full 12-25 cluster at the back. Many ways to kill a cat!
  15. I thought the chain on that Redline looked a bit loose
  16. Its a very special feeling seeing my daughter's name on that list and how she has grown from a little 4 year old racer. ( my profile pic was her at 5!)

  18. welcome to the bmx family! Check out the Gauteng Bmx Clubs facebook page! Lots of people on there has got extra parts that you may need to complete your build. If a cruiser weights under 11kg you've done well! gear ratio - 39/17 for a cruiser is standard on a cruiser (+-55") but most of us ride 41/18 (53.7"). That 40/17 will be way too heavy to get going out the gate and to accelerate after the apex of the corners. You welcome to contact me personally to discuss your project and then even more important to get you racing! Dirk dirkjuys@mweb.co.za
  19. just swop swifters around and change with your left hand the upside down controls. No Problem! However if you swop your rear brake all of a sudden to the left you might loop out a few times!!!!!!
