  1. It had an adamo or did the previous owner take it of?
  2. I heard that the headset setup on this bike is not UCI approved. Doesn't it matter for Kona? Awesome looking bike though. UCI is the Internasional cycling governing body. Kona is a traithlon so the UCI has got nothing to do with it. The Ironman brand is also not affiliated to ITU but rather to the WTC if I am not mistaken.
  3. Strong like bull, smart like tractor!
  4. Its a 2006 model. I had one and as said above its a suprisingly good frame. I'm still riding the 7800 groupset and a friend is still racing the frame. Did you get it with the 7800 groupo? Enjoy!
  5. Wow that is nice. But is it a 29ner?
  6. After reading your first post I thought you should count yourself lucky not to have picked a fight with the Uni rider as he is obvious a machine and would have klapped you as hard as Chuck Norris! But now he came out on thehub like Mahatma Gandhi and maybe a good klap would have been less embarressing!
  7. Help please. My kids and I race bmx and our gear ratio is expressed by: chainring / Rear sprocket x diameter rear wheel inflated. Thus for instance I am running 39/17 with rear wheel diameter 23.8125 inch = 54.63" Does it matter how you get to your final ratio? For instance mathematically a 55" ratio is a 55" ratio doesnt matter if its made up by 39/17 or a 37/16 or even a 35/15 for arguement sake. Some of my Track rider friends swear by making up with as small as posible front chain ring is better cause you get your leg speed up fsster! Then heard an arguement at the bmx crowd that its better to have a bigger front chain ring as it gives you more power of the start?! I am a believer of my calculator saying that it doesnt matter small or big and that 12 equals a dozen! Any insight into this matter shall be hugely appreciated.
  8. This all sounds hectic to me! Ive been riding a set of Ksyrium Elites since 2005. Still running 100% true. Took the free hub of the other day to clean and re oil for the first time. Can only speak well of them. Awesome wheelset!
  9. Good buy. But its an adult bike!

    BSG Rules

Lenard your tri bars are too long and wont be legal. You must get the short ones as used by the Elites on the ITU circuit as they race draft legal. They are much shorter than yours. It is an expensive upgrade considering you only going to use it during the BSG series every year and there are so many ppl around you that surely you going to draft most of the 20km. Your bars will be fine for any non drafting tri.
  11. Damn! They did that exact same trick last year and it cost me R3500 + 15.4% vat!
  12. JIRRE YOU GUYS ARE BORED! Ive got a white chain on my bmx that i bought from chainreaction. Thought it would age badly but been riding it for a year and still looks good.
  13. The water quality isues were temporary!
  14. Was planning to do it since my first one last year but just saw the date and it clashes with our bmx grand nationals. Bummer!
  15. one finger on front brake and 2 fingers on rear brake
  16. Challenge Capetown should challenge yourself!
  17. Ive got 2111mm on my 23c gatorskins
  18. Awesome event. Well done Werner! The cycle was a surprise as I was expecting a flat fast route. Next year taking my roadbike instead of the tt. Sjame I saw guys with disc wheels who also didnt get the memo about the route profile!
  19. You can buy a complete dual suspension for less than the groupset and fork bought seperately.
  20. swim x 2 per week bike x 2 per week and run x 2 per week. Use weekends for distance and schooldays for tempo. Very few people has got the time or energy to do 9 sessions a week.
  21. I ride 11/23 but surely missed a 25 or even 27 during Saturdays 5150 at Bela bela
  22. Thanks for the input so far
  23. http://www.silverbacklab.com/2011/mercury_2.jpg What do you guys think about this bike? Saw it at a bikeshop for R12000! Any input appreciated.
  24. Yes it does work if you dont do csa licenced events as then you going to battle to get your seat back far enough. Just remember it is a huge schlepp changing between tt and drop bar setup's.
