Is it just me or does it seem CT and the Cape in general has more attacks on cyclists/hikers/runners than us lot up here in JHB/Cowteng? (or is it because when the weather is good in the Cape so many of you folk gap it outside so pickings are a lot richer!)

The smell of rain is faint but its there...The old Hotel is still closed (And not because of Covid....!)...Starting to enjoy the 4:45am starts these days....(and I beat that miserable wind this morning!)

OK...I was obviously that shifty 8 year old then.....

Glad I got the ride in early.....although I was out longer than I had planned for....discovered a nice looking Merc in the middle of the veld in a very isolated area....had to wait for the cops to come and investigate...turned out it was someone hiking...on private property but anyway! Better safe than sorry...the Merc had nice low profiles on, ultra shiny and had been driven off road...I thought that was a bit suspect ( A Merc from the village generally has mismatched tyressizes...caked in dirt and mud and at least one window doesnt work!) I was wrong .... but hats off on the local police for coming out straight away to look and make sure....And they phoned me later to update me on the situation.

I remember afternoons in the little village church graveyard scrounging for conkers with mates...weren't you supposed to bake them a bit or something? Takes me back almost 40 years....

Best time of the day...nice and quiet....air smells clean and perfumed with blossoms....just a teeny weeny bit chilly still!

What do you think of Girsan? The MC28 doesn't seem a bad option for R7k odd...as I am rapidly finding out there is also a decent holster and gun belt to consider no matter what you buy so that's another R2k odd on top... Ja, its all my local Spar carries.......Spar has their range of vegan products but its awful.

Anything you recommend there? One thing I do find being vegan/vegetarian is the lack of something to chuck in a sandwich if you are in a hurry or want something to take with you to work etc....I usually make a 'meatloaf' with soya mince, mashed up beans, fried up onion, peppers and mushrooms and normal Tiger oats....mix it all up with some veg stock and bake in a banana loaf tin....I use that as a sandwich filling.

ironically I find it's the meat eaters who try and shame you...but as the years have gone by I think I've heard most of the crap jokes and bonehead remarks by now....

Ja, I'm not keen on the mental vegans.....they cause more harm than good.

Judging by the look of that mountain bike they shouldn't bother....
