  1. Like a fine wine....gels will age gracefully and can be enjoyed and savoured for many years after the sell by..
  2. I like to run a hard tyre myself but around 2.6-2.8..(Assuming the gauge reads correctly)..I weigh about 85. Also the Crossmark. But the skinny 2.1 version. I know it seems hard but I have also seen a few tyres pop and sealant all over and riders going down in some races....Kind of puts me off being too soft on cheap rims.... Depending on your bike I would say check that your rear stays can take the wider tyre... Im at my limits with a 2.25....
  3. Just too hard isnt it to contact your host/webmaster and ask that they to pull the site.
  4. Lol...I see this website is still active though? I saw some tyres I wanted and no-one returns emails or calls so I thought I would check here quickly.... Why dont these clowns just remove the site??
  5. My bike took me to find some.....Trail crap at lunchtime...... I wish people would engage the brain when they let these balloons go...Stuck in a tree.....Not something I like seeing on my daily rides! Parents must really love their kids to let more plastic loose in the world....
  6. Lol...If there is one thing that was the best thing ever for MTB, it was disc brakes!

  8. Sjoe....I didnt realise bikes had become so expensive like that.
  9. I assume you mean around R7k on those bikes and not R17k?
  10. Years ago I lived on a small mining village near Witbank...We had a familiy there that always wore these...the husband, the wife and the two kids! This was before we had the Kardashians to give us fashion sense....
  11. I feel ashamed for wearing my Pep trancksuit pants on a ride now! (tucked into my socks naturally!)
  12. The 2.1 crossmarks are hard to find now..... As for that Fasttrack....I was quoted closer to R1000 for one tyre from the local dealer...lol!
  13. Where are you finding tubeless Crossmarks for R380?
  14. That puffy was about as thick as my wrist...around 20cm or so.....A fair size...I have seen baboon and a caracal in these hills...Would have been a tasty treat for them!
  15. The joys of being self employed/unemployed/nothing to do today...You can ride whenever! And I like warm lunctime rides in winter! But it looks like I interrupted someone's lunch today...(nice fat meaty peice of puffy.....).

  17. Lol..Ill aways remember taking my 4x4 all the way to the Sani pass.It was time to put it to the test.....Then discovering that the Breedts Nek pass, just round the corner from me, was actually in worse condition
  18. Seems to have changed quite a bit then? I did my last one in 2014 I think...Shocked thats already 7 years ago!
  19. Ive done it 3x.....And this is how it is....Its soddingly rocky no matter what! I would also suggest the 35km if you are not used to being punished over 60km on rocky, sandy and grassy paths....
  20. Seems bad pennys continue to show up...
  21. My experience with this was to still get a puncture and then have a ton of sealant all over the place. I also struggled to patch the tube with the sealant all over. I wound up buying the extra thick tubes and tyre liners instead before I went tubeless.... (big weight difference!) But tubeless is the best way no doubt,
  22. Even if you dont do the spannering yourself, make sure you have a good idea of whats what so the LBS cant spin BS stories to you....
  23. Just consumables for me....All tools have been bought over last 11 years. No more LBS BS.....(plus closet one is 30km odd away.....) As with anything mechanical....Fix before something breaks and creates more damage and cost....
