  1. Got 1999 m for the DC and 1202 m for the Argus on my garmin.
  2. Ok I get your point but when I said go carbon I didnt say go cheap no name carbon. For the price for that scott carbon is the way to go.
  3. Ok so how much does a CAAD10 cost? Doubt wether the Scott is cheap carbon.
  4. Also depends how bad the bug has bit? If you go new aluminium I garantee (if you get serious about riding) you will be looking for a carbon four months later. I would go with that Scott thats a great price and you get a carbon frame, you could always upgrade parts later.
  5. Cool report realy enjoyed it.
  6.   Good chirp, that stem doesn't look the strongest either looks like one good twist of the bar and snap. (I could be wrong)
  7. Thats 202 km not 200km :lol:dont short change me. Those last 30 km is a killer into that wind with those climbs.
  8. One minute behind you Tiny K 7:02 (Hermanus Pharmacies) we got one pro and one elite rider in the team so thats why I think we got such a seeding. I think wheels sucking will be in order. Will pull on the down hills.
  9. Or a third off for next year? I could of got a late entry on the Wednesday lucky for me my partner had made other plans for the weekend.
  10. Thats what I'm doing as well works fine. One puncture in 2000K's. Front tyre looks almost new back one also looks like another 1000K.
  11. I have never heard of any Chinese plant working to any standard. If they did all of them would close. "Made in China" ie: "Buy at own Risk"
  12. "dam or dumb w@nker"? Just say Gautenger
  13. I think its possible look at Burry Stander winning a road race on his mountain bike, I think it was in kzn somewhere. Ok it was Burry.
  14. I would also go the second hand route, second hand road bikes have very little wear and tear but if it looks like its been crashed stay away but other wise if its a one or two year old there is very little that can go wrong. Mountain bike is a different story. I sold a giant tcr alliance half carbon a year back for R9000 with 105 parts 7 months old still brand new, so there are good deals out there.
  15. The new logo looks ***. Then again I wasnt to mad about the old one when you look at it it looks like a Chinaman (thats not very African) riding the bike because of the the yellow background behind his head.
  16. I'm not the best downhilerl but riding with my friends on Eselfontein two times a week you have to bite the bullet and just go for it otherwise you get left behind. These are a few things I have learnt. 1. speed is your friend you want your front shock to hit the rock and bounce over it too slow and it sticks in and over the handle bars you go. Once riding down death drop with my wife (she pushed some of the way) riding to slow, waiting for her and next thing I knew I was on my back. 2. try to look far ahead the faster you going the more ahead you should be looking. 3. brake before the corner braking in a corner makes the bike stand up and then you fooked. 4. tyre pressures is also is a big thing dont ride too hard a pressure also too soft without tubeless you can get snake bites. 5. the more often you ride technical stuff the better you will get.

I see a spelling mistake is that supposed to be clinging or climbing, as in clinging on. (just kidding a know it was just a typing error)
  18. The race I saw him win I am sure he was on a ghost 29 er. He was still saying how great it was.
  19. Just looking on the Cape Pioneer site, there is a photo of Sauser and Knox do my eyes deceive me or is Knox on a 26 er? (I could be wrong) After they won stage 6, I thought 26 ers dont win races. This is the same guy who said a couple of months ago after winning a race on a 29 er that the 29 er is the best thing ever. (or did his sponsor tell him to say that)
  20. Bought most of my bikes there, been around for years and their prices you cant beat.
  21. I agree 100% the more you weigh yourself the more determination you get. Also the biggest thing that helped me was to cut out seconds, the plate you dished up in the first place is more than enough, we eat the second plate because we want to not because we have to. If you have to eat because the food is nice rather eat smaller portions of it more often than two big plate fulls.
  22. I paid R17500 for mine also in January. I had the old giant alliance that I wanted to upgrade, the colours are very similar so my wife doesnt know I upgraded.
  23. I got Mavic SR wheels 1480g and they great but a bit out of that price range. At CWC you can get Mavic Ksyrium 1690g at R3500 and if they are half as good as mine you are going to love them.
