If 29ers are so much better why did those brothers win the last stage. We know everybody wants to win the last stage so alot of the guys were going out to win it. The manufactures told all their guys to ride 29ers .... why? SALES. Doesnt Mr Mclean have shares in Cycle Lab????? Look I do think a 29er is probably a little quicker, but as Burry said if he wants to win races he'll take the 29er if you wants to have fun on a bike and have more response from it he takes the 26er. If you have a good bike I think its crazy to trade it in on a 29er but if you looking for a new ride then thats different. Personally I dont realy like the look of it, it looks way too big, but you do get use to it, on the epic the 26ers looked small around all those 29ers. PS. My friend who did the epic has got the same bike as Burry and he came near the back of the field.

I think I might go back to a large someday. Just feels better on the down hills doesnt feel like you want to go over the handlebars

I was also between sizes (1.80m). I think 1.82m you would be a large. Tight twisty tracks the medium is very good, big down hills feels a bit small. Had to put a 120mm stem on. Ive got a Scott spark my brother in-law has a Trance and he loves it everyone that rides it says what a comfortable bike it is, but then its made to be plush. I think it has the best of both worlds good racer and good on the downhills with that extra travel. I would look at a new bike if you can afford it buying a road bike second hand is fine, mtb bike would have to be pretty new.

See that guy on the epic today as he went down the ramp his back bottle fell out. I use the Spez. works great havnt had a bottle fall out yet, and if it does its because I havnt put it back properly. Tankman I'd rather pay the R180. If thats what you did, I dont want to see what your bike.

What I'm trying to get across if everyone "has the who cares attitude" imagine what people will try and get away with. If Spat did not bring this point to everyones attention then alot of peoples attitude could be well if he can do it why cant I? Nobody cares that I cheat. Nobody wants this to become the norm do they.

I'm with Spat here. We are so used to the government stealing all the money, the cops taking bribes top cyclist taking dope and so on and so on . So when somebody "cheats" (guilty unless proven innocent) in a cycle race nobody gets upset.... everyone says oh he's only cheating himself and so on and so forth. I say bull***** what are we teaching our children if everyone said that. Its ok son you cheat and do well but remember you only cheating yourself. Preparing to be shot down.

You presume to much my friend is actually better than me he had some technical problems on the seeding rides thats why he is lower than me. Yes moving down does effect your time but one group doesnt make that much of a difference. At the end of the day racetec has it wrong. They say you can move down groups so they must give the time from that group.

Some people move down to ride with people they know in a lower group. I have the same problem was supposed to start in H started with my friend in J, time was right yesterday now I see I'm 3 minutes slower today. Told everyone I did a 3:13 imagine the embarrassment when they see I did a 3:16.

They cant hold the speeds on the down hills. Coming down hill after Smits. there was a guy in middle of the road on mtb doing about 45k when we were doing 60k lots of swerving and choice words at the guy.

Howzit Tubehunter Buchu and me did a 3:13 I think we did lose you on Chappies. That crash happened two bikes behind me, guy in front of me breaked, I breaked the guy behind me breaked guy behind him swerved and the guy behind him was half wheeling... game over. Buch tells me he had to bunny hop the one guys arm.

That doesnt make sense what about guys starting in lower groups they were supposed to?

Buchu and I will be in a red Ceres Wimpy tops. He rides a raleigh rc 300 cabon and I'm on a black giant tcr sl. I think we must forget about numbers just say what bike you on, I remember that a lot easier than numbers. I've got a H number. had two weeks of physio to sort my knee out, hope it holds up.

Get a giant trance, bit over your budget but its a good all rounder. You don't want to get a down hill bike then struggle cross country. I think you won't have a problem with rough stuff on a trance it has good travel.

I think alot of people say they coming to pick it up and then find a better deal. So when the other guy came to purchase it, he could have then phoned and asked RTG7 if he realy whats it as there is another person interested. He then could have seen if RTG7 was messing him around because if he was not that interested in it he would say no just let the other guy have it. If he then doesnt come pick it up then Joey can have a rant and rave about him not fetching things. (then you can come full circle)

Thats pretty much what I did too. But you'll find from "I" its starts to get alot harder to ride away. (professional wheel suckers)

I dont agree with the seeding. Here is list of my races with my group position and the indexes I get. Take in mind most of the time I finished in the front group and there wasnt one guy say that had 5 or 10 minutes on me. Also some of the guys in my group had better PPA numbers some E's and F's. My PPA group is J. Burger group G 7/193 index 32.84 = J time 3:00 Boland Drukers group I-J 3/39 index 29.94 time 3:13 (this one I dont understand almost win I but I almost get a J seeding???) Cape Cobra group J 5/41 index 30.446 = J time 2:59 So alot of these races I'm in the top five but my seeding doesnt get better??????
