  1. Didnt see his bike, but i think he was wearing his Linden Cycles jersey
  2. Nice to see you guys on the road this morning. It was a really perfect morning for a ride, and im pleased i got up to train! Yeah those bloody ADT bakkies, i hate riding in bedfordview because of them. like you say, no regard for the law, and no respect for cyclists. i think someone should actually speak to the security companies, or bring it out in the press, because its just a matter of time till they knock over a cyclist or a runner! I even decided to change to Chubb (as you say the drivers are no better) because of the experiences i had with the ADT drivers along Van Buuren Road! when they asked why i left, i told them because their drivers are reckless, but i never took the matter any further.
  3. If i had to choose one, it would be Wilier Triestina...
  4. I saw a few pairs at Shauns Power Cycles last week in Durbs. i think the ceramic version was R375 for the pair. Must say they looked very very nice!
  5. Mmm 46? Only one rider that can wear that number...
  6. That is seriously boring kit.
  7. Check out the TacX Flow, thats got a powermeter, and is well priced.
  8. I agree, they do feel slightly less powerful than my Dura Ace brakes, but nothing that would make the ride dangerous. They dont have the dual pivots of Shimano and Campag brakes, so they do have a different feel but the modulation and power is spot on. They are a little tricky to set up, but with new cables and new brake blocks its not difficult at all. Reading all the reviews on roadbikereview i was a bit nervous initially, but after setting them up myself and then riding them i can see that they actually do perform very very well! I would say if you can afford them, go for it
  9. Speak really nicely to 101%, he may be able to help you out. He hooked me up with these for my new bike.. 168g for the pair, and about another 15g for the pads! With the complete bike weighing in at... Not bad for a 58cm bike with pedals, bottle cages and a clincher wheelset!
  10. A 2 second Google search reveals... http://www.nettally.com/palmk/crankset.html http://www.nettally.com/palmk/crimplic.html http://www.cptips.com/crnklth.htm http://www.machinehead-software.co.uk/bike/cranks/cyclist_crank_length_calculator.html http://www.bicyclesource.com/bike/fitting/crank-length.shtml http://www.billbostoncycles.com/crank_length.htm http://www.bicycletouring101.com/BikeDifferentCranks.htm
  11. Yeah my time is usually just over two hours on a road bike, normally like 2h10 / 2h20 for the 58km loop. Never broken 2 hours, my fastest lap ever being 2h04!
  12. 58km...only 1 lap??
  13. Yeah whats with the weather today? Only four of us riding ICG this morning. It was so cold even 'hardcore' Jules couldnt get out of bed!
  14. I broke my USE Alien Seatpost clamp at last years Argus! Couldnt understand why my seat was skew and at a funny angle, untill i got home and saw this... But my LBS replaced it straight away, no questions asked, and its still working fine!
  15. Like Velo said, the Alu stuff is usually lighter than the Carbon. The FSA OS-115 and OS-99 stems are really light, as is the Ritchey WCS stem, all around 100g, and they are very stiff. As far as bars go, the Easton SLX and Equipe (both Carbon) are very good, and around 200g each. Slightly heavier is the Ritchey WCS and FSA carbon stuff at around 230-240g. But again for look at the Alu bars, like the Deda Newton bar (around 190g) and the Easton EA70 (200g odd), both just as stiff and strong as the carbon, at less than half the price! Just my 2 cents worth, as im also looking at gettng new bars this week!
  16. The Dura Ace has the 3 largest sprokets manufatured fromTitanium. they are mounted on a carrier and are not seperate. you can clearly see a colour diff in the Ti vs. the steel. Im also sure on the lockring it will have a model number of some sorts, 7800 if its DA, where as the Ultegra says 6600 i think.
  17. GT and Scott CX bikes are currently available, so i would imagine Omnico and Western Flyer will be bringing in some tyres as well.
  18. Watch out, one of the hubbers has got himself a new GT CX bike, and is looking at doing some damage at Babbas Lodge soon...
  19. Same here Scotty! That was the race i enjoyed the most this year, and being in the TCS team and having Jaco win it just topped it off for me!
  20. 11kg for a DS is pretty reasonable, but i was chatting to a mate on the ride this morning about it, and he says when he was in europe a month ago the guys were all racing on DS bikes weighing around 9.5 - 10kg!
