    ZIPP 404

The yellow ' Raleigh Special Edition' Stickers? Very nice wheels, i had a pair for about 18 months. Very durable, and fast, but a bit heavy. I had a few issues with the rear hub loosening up, but that not to hard to fix. otherwise they were pretty bombproof. Think the weight limit for the std Zipp wheels is 85kg? But i may be wrong!
  2. Looks really good!! But when are you going to be able to ride it??
  3. 19th of July??? In the middle of winter?? Well at least it wont rain!
  4. Sounds about right for a new campag body. Mavics are really easy to service yourself though. When you feel the new ones making a really loud click, or spinning a bit rough, all you need are two allen keys and you can remove it. Unscrew the rear axle bits, then slide off the freehub. (Just watch he little springs and pawl things that they dont go flying around) Clean all the parts off, clean the seal, and lightly regrease it and put it all back together. Its really easy. Ive been doing that for years on my SL's and they are still perfect.
  5. Head to www.cyclesafe.co.za for info on rides out in Illovo and Dunkeld areas.
  6. The freehub body is the thing that the cassette (rear sprokets) are mounted onto. It is part of your rear hub, and can be made from either titanium, aluminum or steel. It can wear out due to a number of reasons, but usually its not sealed properly and dirt gets inside and destoys the internals. I would post a pic, but this site is saying Access Denied The Hub SA : Access Denied ErrorOnly members with sufficient permission can access this page. WTF??
  7. Get in touch with Edenvale Pedelers. They meet behind the Pick n Pay on Van Riebeeck sat and sunday mornings for a ride. not sure of the time anymore, its been years since i rode with them. Or you could ride with the Bedfordview group, they meet at the Bedfordview Virgin Active gym exit from 6am on Saturdays and Sundays. Good luck, that group is fast. i remember some days when the average was over 40km/h on the 70km loop! PM Mr Macphisto for more info on that group. Again i havnt ridden out that side for about a year.
  8. well if you can live with the yellow decals that say "Raleigh Special Edition" then that i would go for them. 404's are great wheels. would much rather ride zipps over the equinox wheels.
  9. Thats why the dogs and i are so good looking! We love our vegetables!
  10. ha ha ha, keep it, you never know when you might need to use it here on the hub as leverage!
  11. hey Chilli, Amateur and i will be there.

  13. Never used M-Frames so i cant compare, but i like my Radars a lot!
  14. you can buy HED wheels at Cyclelab in Fourways
  15. Ive got a Orange Bikes Poster of Steve Peat when he was world champ that he signed for me in 2002 at the Bike show at the NEC in Birmingham!
  16. I got some Shamals from CWC in December for R7999.00. They were in perfect condition, untouched and spotless. And thet price included wheel bags, spoke spanners the works. I must admit that i am extremly impressed with them, super stiff and extremly light. As far as ride quality goes, they are light years ahead of my Ksyriums SL's!
  17. Yeah i just paged through one of the mags at the bike shop across the road, and it is Lenise on her Stevens hardtail. Sorry Bee!
  18. Bev, i can come pick it up tomorrow as ill be in Bedfordview and then ill take it through to NF as we go regularly. hows that?
  19. Then just stay with the original white untill you know for certain what you want.
  20. Dont know why i cant vote, but if it was mine, i would go for the first one. Gold front triange, and black swingarm. Skulls will date, and to me they look more like little bubbles!!

  23. My old Cannondale Gemini also used this mount.
  24. I somehow doubt the 3 cleats are compatible. SPD.. SPD-R.. and an SPD-SL.. SPD is really for mountainbiking, or general purpose use. The SPD-SL is Shimanos version of the Look road pedal, which is actually a very good peadal. And the SPD-R is the older road pedal that was replaced by the SL pedal and cleat. I havnt seen them for a while.
