    Teak place

I stopped off there last weekend to see a sign that Teak Place in closed for renovations. Ok , so while they might be renovating the restaurant and buildings, why cant the trails still be ridden? Seems like there is more to this than meets the eye
  2. Scotchgard your Chamois. Like teflon for fabrics. Not much sticks..............depending on what you ate. I'm told that the worst kind of skid marks are from koeksisters................ Now where is an Omo rep when you need help...... Really enjoyed this thread. Thanks for all the laughs!!
  3. I concur with Witkop. It is naive to think that just because some of us know each other that all transactions are somehow magically secure. This is the internet. Transact with caution.
  4. Fox shocks are made up of many parts each with a specific operational life cycle. It is unlikely or even impossible that all the parts are blown at the same time. I recently had my fork on my Anthem serviced after I saw some oil leaking. All seals replaced and shock fully operational again for R400. Much cheaper thank a new shock which will again end up needing servicing.

  6. No exercise gene present. Just the beer and pizza genes!
  7. Utter cr@p Does not warrant detailed response ecept to be disappointed in the lack of insight displayed by the author.
  8. There are @rseh0l3s everywhere. Some ride bikes, some bicycles, some cars and some are pedestrians. While you are looking out to find the next @rseh0l3 that is going to totally bugger up your day, be careful that your response to him/her does not turn you into one as well! Remember it is a highly contagious condition born to a large degree out of lack of control of one's own ego. .........and yes I am also one, just ask my wife!!!
  9. He is learning a lot this season. I expect these lessons to compound and make him a better competitor in the future. I am sure that him and the spez team will think about these same questions and decide what to do next and that he will get better over time.. . . . whatever bike he rides!
  10. Im using a polar strap on my garmin and the strap is just better quality and it seems to work well
  11. Is this a road or mtb event you are talking about?
  12. Sorry to ask but are you totally sold on the harness idea. I found that a single shelf bracket (450x450mm ) mounted to my garage wall which holds the bike under the saddle is sufficient to keep it above the cars and is simple to buy and install. Unless you have a very high ceiling and are sold on raising the bike to a high level, simplicity would be my first choice. My 2 000 000 000 000 zim dollars worth
  13. 26' hardtail, 29er Hardtail, 29er dualie, road machine, I need them all and love them all. Imagine only eating one type of food for the rest of your life. How boring. If 27.5s become freely available,I will want to experience that as well. Probably need a SS fixie as well. Just havent tried it yet. And let us not get onto my wish list for my motorcycles. . . . . 2 Wheels and I'm happy

    Argus 2012

Started 13 - crashed out in 1, finished 12 . Last one in 2000. got bored and stopped road riding. Time to go back.
  15. I cringe with each crash but he gets better all the time. I dont think he knows it yet but his back and joints are already stuffed!!!
  16. I just completed a 5 day ride through the Karoo and found the navigation on the edge800 very good to have. Horses for courses I suppose. BTW I see some people are having a problem with the Garmin HRM strap. I must say it is inferior in quality to the Polar straps. I was playing around and see thet the garmin unit clips persectly into the polar strap. I will try it this sevening and give feedback.
  17. One of the best value for money options available at the moment.
  18. I ride an anthem 29er. Love it. Best value for money in that class imho. Done 2 races and about 50 training rides . A class act. Much more comfortable than my previous hardtail. Dont wants to get into the 26 vs 29 er debate. Anthem works for me as I do a lot of tar to get to offroad tracks and I find the 29er just rolls better.
  19. Well so far I have only ridden SabieXperience lite and plan to do the full version in december. Also ridden some of the shorter day races but currently training for a 5 day 500 km ride through the karoo to eastern cape with Woodbridge school. Possibky also wine to whales as a friend might not make it. So my programme is reasonably set up and will also get me to the next level of fitness. Definitely see the Joburg2C and imana wild ride as must do's. So many lovely places to ride but unfotyunately I still have to work.
  20. I know that there is an aftetmarket inflatable seat for touring motorcycles that you inflate to a level of personal comfort. Maybe something along these lines?
  21. Like a whoopie cushion?
  22. Thanks for this insight Nigelhicks. I was not aware of developments in other countries . Your input is appreciated.
  23. Maybe you should read a posting with a more open mind. The point being made is that the largest market generally attracts attention first for manufacturers as they can make most profit there. In your educated opinion not knowing exactly how large the market is makes me "know nothing" . Your extrapolation of logic seems to come from the school of Malema politics. I am not a cycling specialist but I have a good understanding of business and marketing and this is the angle from which I make this statement. The general intent of the post is that people should not judge these developments in cycling as something of a once off change, as they will not be the last. As new technologies are developed, the sport will develop. Before long travel suspension I doubt too many people were taking the jumps and drop offs that are now commonplace. What does wheel size matter as long as you are happy with what you ride. No bike is perfect. The sport is great and each one of us should enjoy it as we want to .
  24. Lovely bike. Enjoy the ride!
  25. Not change. Just adding options to cycling. You do realize that golf started with just one club and now has been limited to a set of 14 clubs. Without expanding the options we would only ever have had something like putt putt. Nothing wrong with pitt putt but somehow there has to be more. ........ Now I am not saying there is anything wrong with any bike, just that there are more ways to kill a cat.....,,,,,,,,... Btw experimenting can be fun
