  3. Anybody else tried this miracle cure before ?
  4. Yip that be for legs. I used to cramp badly in my legs. especially on the inside of my leg from my knee btween the quads and hammies. Since trying the rennies it has all but dissappeared.
  5. Rennies. Works every time. Two before you start. 2 at halfway. if you still feel a cramp coming on at the end take another one. I also suffer(ed) badly from cramps and tried anything and everything without success until i read about rennies. That said im sure people cramp for different reasons and there isnt a cure that will work for all people. so just give it a try at least and see if it also performs the miracle on you like it did for me.
  6. You thinking carbon or alu? The scott scale 30 or 20 carbon should fall in that pricerange. In alu you will get very good deals on the mongoose HT range. You probably could pick up a brand new 2007 model at willie engelbrecht for less even... Shop around and remember to ask for discounts on the 2007 models.
  7. Caffeine helps you burn those fatty bits.... And Beer helps you to replace them.
  8. True I want to loose some fat. Get the fat percentage down fom 17% to 13-14%
  9. Thanks Porky Good Post. I think you've hit the nail on the head. To cycle you need energy. and alot of it. To get the energy you have to eat. As you said, it is difficult to go and cycle with no energy, much less go and race. So I guess it all boils down to really watching what you eat and dropping the kilos (fat) really really slowly on a very consistent basis. And to achieve this I am going to have to get an eating and training plan and stick to it. That will be the challenge.
  10. Normally if the pain is at the back of the knee, your saddle is too high. If its at the front, its too low
  11. What about coffee ? I drink about 3 -4 cups during the day.
  12. Maybe you are right Marius. The one thing that I am not doing is some longer rides at a slower pace. Due to the lack of training time I am doing shorter more intense training and thus I might not be burning as much fat, although i am definately fitter and faster than the same time last year. Thanks
  13. Lucky Bastard
  14. I think I'm gonna give the book a try. But before I do I need to know that what is in there is not freely available on the internet anyway. So if anyone has bought the book and thought afterwards that it is worth the money OR thought that they could have gotten the same information from an alternate source, please speak up now
  15. You can not train when you dont eat. You need all the energy you can get. So that is not an option. Eat less, yes thats one option. Eat correctly. that is the answer. And by the way my BMI is 24.5. so that is in the good range, but i still need to loose the 5 kg's to get to 80kg's
  16. I hope someone can shed some light on this issue. Last year I lost almost 10kg by just cycling a lot. I was sitting pretty between 82-83 kg's This year I have actually picked up weight right up to 85 although I still cycle the same average amount of hours per week as I did last year this time. The cherry on the cake is that I aim to take off two weeks over Christmas from cycling, which will mean at the very least that i will not loose any more weight and most probably will pick up some more over the festive season. I want to weigh about 80 kgs if I can get my way but dont know how to achieve this. I cut out white bread this year. I am eating small portions fairly often (around 5 times a day which includes apples and other fruits, and I do some other sport activities besides cycling as well. Im 1.82 and according to the gym my fat percentage hovers around 17%. Last year it was around 15% What to do to shed these extra few kg's of fat. I must be doing something different but i dont know what.
  17. Super Idea, although it is in the wrong place. It needs to be on the handlebar or stem so you can open while riding. That way you dont have to stop and dismount to open the bottle.
  18. So i think I ride about 185.356 average KM a week
  19. I think we might be off-topic here. The heading reads "Training Distances" and not "Time"
  20. I was on the "sit" and i still dont understand
  21. Agree with DD. If the training is good you can go far. I do on average about 5 hours a week. Some weeks I do up to 8 and some I do one or two (or nothing). I do races but not too seriously. Im in G group currently and happy there. If you wanna really race with the front guys you will have to put in more than 12 hours per week though
