  1. Thanks Ronelle. I think that hits the nail on the head. I am going to try and see if some inserts will do the trick.
  2. I have crank brothers candy on the mtb and look keo on the roadbike.
  3. I get pain in my left foot after about an hour of cycling. (hotspot). It occurs on the ball of my left foot in line with my three middle toes. not the pinkie or big toe. It is very sore and it feels as if someone is poking hot coles into my toes. This only happens on my left foot and it happens with my mtb shoes (specialized), my road shoes (Sidi) and even with my running shoes on the spinning trainer in the Gym. does anyone know what the cause of this pain is and also how to cure or prevent it.
  4. If youre going for a carbon fibre FS then why not go for the scott spark ltd ? its lighter and stronger imo
  5. Scary to think that saturday morning I went all the way up to the blockhouse early morning and I was out there alone. Will think twice about doing that again.!!
  6. I need to service my mavic rear hub and need to remove the freewheel hub to clean and relube the pawls. I know there were a service manual at one stage at this location(http://www.mavic.com/e_upload/pdf/UserGuide_FWB_FTS_L.pdf.) but it seems mavic have taken it down. anyone maybe have this pdf still or know where i can find it. Alternatively some pics or direction can also help. I know how to remove the axle, the casette etc. I just need to know how to take off the freewheel hub.
  7. The best mtb maintenance shop in cape town is Cycle Maintenance Centre in Table View. jaco truly knows mtb's and is also a very sought after mechanic for a lot of top teams for the Epic. That alone tells you the true story of their service levels.
  8. I can second that on the crossmarks. I have the crossmark UST and have not had one singal problem with them. They handle in all kinds of terrain including mud. They are all over very good tires and would recommend them for training and trail riding. I am however looking to upgrade to a faster, lighter tire for racing and will keep the crossmarks for the training and other weekend rides as they are truly indestructable.
  9. Do you use them in the front or both on front and rear ? Im only thinking of putting them in the front. Gonna look for a rear tire still. thinking about the panaracer razor xc as a rear.
  10. compared to what ? i mean which tires felt faster in your opinion?
  11. Would that be the one with the black chilli compound, or does the original one have that as well?
  12. Anyone tried or have any experiece with the continental Speed king. Especially with tubeless. I am looking for a tire (used tubeless with stans) that can withstand our harsh, rocky tire slashing and thorny south african trails. Or mybe youve tried the Panaracer Razer XC tire (tubeless again) ?
  13. Farg@#$ it that is expensive. I have specialized, cape storm and first ascent bibs and each and every one chafes me at one time or another, specially if it is longer rides >2.5 hours and a little damp.. I am thinking that maybe I need some kind of chamois creme or maybe some fissan paste to try and lessen the chafing.
  14. A while ago i posted a request for a polar speed sensor in the Notice Board forum. Chucky answered my post adnd said that he had a spare and that I could have the speed sensor as he no longer needs it. At his own cost and time he then couriered the sensor to me as well. This is outstanding service from one of our own hubbers and I would like to thank him for his selfishness and comitment to help a fellow hubber in need. Thanks again Chucky.
  15. f@#$k hoeveel led's is daar in daai lig ?
  16. Kom nou Fanie. Jy ry die goed al lank genoeg. Gee ons jou opinie oor 'n 10 km timetrial. Vinniger/stadiger tyd? Hoer/Laer hartklop? Meer/minder brand in bene? Meer/Minder watts in totaal? Of het jy nog nie sulke detail beskikbaar vir ons nie?
  17. I currently have a sram xo deraileur and an xt casette on my mtb. works perfectly.
  18. at least you dont have to pay for anything, which is always a good thing
  19. Did they do a VO2Max test and maybe a lactate threshold test as well?
  20. Thanks for the tip BigBen I have been riding tubeless since January and must say that I have not punctured once. I have been lugging my spare tube with me all this time, but I think im gonna take your advice and rather carry the sealing kit. Just use maxxis crossmark LUST then you wont get sidewall cuts.

Sram rules. In the mtb arena Shimano cannot come close to sram. Sram is by far more reliable when things get wet and dirty.
