never tried the GT but I have a scale (carbon) and I couldn't be happier. Super Light, very stiff, absorbs shocks very well, accellerates like a bat out of hell.. you dont need anything more trust me.
  4. Vino denied everything this morning saying it has been a mistake and its absurd to think he would blood dope... yeah right
  5. Only if you have it injected into your legs....
  6. Friend of mine bought a KCNC crank from cmc. Jaco at CMC has high praise for these cranks. About same weight as XTR but HALF the price. My friend has only good things to say about it. No problems whatsoever. I personally have the XT hollowtech cranks and there is nothing to say about these except that they are: Smooth shifting, have a long lifespan, are strong and stiff enough for my 85kg body. they just work. Period.
  7. You only give half away when you get divorced...
  8. Verkeerde dag. Kies eerder 'n dinsdag middag of woensdag. Maandag oggend is te moelik om op te staan...
  9. If you buy any of these make sure you get the candy SL. (stainless) NOT the cromoly spindle. these are the ones that gives the most problems The sl is a little more expensive but really bulletproof....
  10. I have never had Hope mini pro's but what i have read on many reviews is that the hopes get hot, which means the fluid loses some of their hydraulic properties resulting in spongy brakes. That is what the most reviews say. According to those same reviews the formula oro and juicy ultimate does not suffer the same fate.. Just a thought.
  11. Avid Juicy Ultimates: they are the Ultimate breaks. Period. Very Light and Very Strong and unfortunately Very expensive.
  12. I've had a pair since january 2007 and have had 0 problems. They do shed mud Very easily, so theres no problems of clipping or unclipping when it is muddy. I did find them a little more difficult than SPD's to clip into in the beginning, but now that i am used to them it is a no brainer. I think the Price to weight ration is pretty good too.. Will buy them again.
  13. Ok so now I am confused again.. There's been two races in the last 9 days, Knysna and the Dewdale classic. Both mtb in my case. So my legs are stuffed from these 2 races. Another race on the 4th of August (Stellenbosch) And the Karoo to coast in 7 weeks time. My question is, how do I approach the coming weeks. I want to do well in the Karoo to Coast so I am going to start a 7 week program for that. starting this week. it will contain resistance training and also intervals. That will surely mean that my legs will take a beating with the training and intervals and will probably be toast by the time the Stellenbosch race starts. (which is right on the 3rd week where it will be peak training before an easier 4th week. So do i just take the pain and race the stellenbosh race or do I actually switch the weeks around and take the easy week and taper in the 3rd week before the race and then do the heavy week after that (the 4th week).
  14. so ActionLamb' date=' what would your weeks training schedule look like ?[/quote'] Something like this for the winter...... Mon: Rest Tue: Morning(Spinning) Afternoon Easy 1 hr Ride Wed: Afternoon(gives me a 24 hour rest before next ride) Tempo 1 hour ride Thur: Morning(Spinning) Afternoon Easy 1 hr Ride Fri: Rest Sat: 2 hour comfy ride Sun: Looooong ride (Can swop Sat or Sun around) This works for me......enough rest in here. I feel that rest is very important so I benefit more to take a extra day rest because my sessions are more intense. ActionLamb, you state you do 3 intervalsessions a week. I only see 2. do you incorporate the intervals into the weekend long rides...?
  15. so ActionLamb, what would your weeks training schedule look like ?
  16. thanks BikeMax nicely summed up me thinks.. I think if i concentrate on quality it will go a long way to better fitness and faster races. thanks again.
  17. "A more realistic view is this one: http://www.cyclingnews.com/fitness/?id=2007/letters05-29 which states that powerkranks can help if you have bad pedaling dynamics or a left/right imbalance, but they may reduce your power and stuff up your pedal stroke if you already have good pedaling dynamics." Thanks for the above Chritstie. If the above is true then even one legged drills will be a complete waste of time as they will not be specific enough for long enough to make any inroads into cycling efficiency. Back to square one then it seems. "cycle lots" seems to be the only correct answer at the moment....
