    And Absalon made it back to third place after his lap one disaster despite a bike that weighed a whole 350g more than it could have with a fixed post :-)

    You may be right, but I think a bit of goodwill would have existed if TMNP had opened Tokai sooner and there may have been a bit more pulling than before. Or we would maybe have raised some funds to pay someone else to do that or maybe TMNP would have been compelled to spend some money. By the look of it we are seeing Tokai going further downhill making scoping of trails and rebuilds harder by the month.

    Something like - "well aliens loved the burn even more than the precious fynbos so now we have to go to plan B - weed killer" Or maybe "f..k off we don't want your comments on the environmental disaster that is Tokai, you guys are the enemy of all things green and pretty, just like aliens" Now imagine if we had been riding in Tokai for six months already. Vasbyt and others would probably be alien free thanks to trail,build and alien clearing work parties. The longer it gets left the more growth there is and the harder and more expensive it is to remove. We saw this happening on Mamba before the fire...

    Nothing a few erosion causing/ soil compacting bikes won't cure quite quickly

    How about a view of the entire place Deon? How about showing us what Vasbyt, Mamba, Cobra etc look like?

    Unless these were planted? TMNP did a bit of planting in the Mamba area before the fire, not that we ever saw anything for all the aliens which came up in droves.

    Just bought a Magic Mary in 26" for the front of my bike - should be great for the damp trails we will be seeing this winter...

    Ya I like that it looks like a Stumpy only its cheaper. One day. Myles, it does look like a Stumpy but its a joke, I like the bike and all your arguments are valid. But it still looks like STUMPY - - from 2013. At least it doesnt look like a Session.

    I used to own a CR 430 which predates that 450R in the pic, I think. It was one of the first with prolink rear suspension and an absolute beast to start especially when hot. Sold it many years ago to some enthusiasts who were going to restore it.

    Used to ride one of these as a student. Looks seriously dated now but felt like a real hooligan tool at the time. On a students income it was hard to maintain the thing and pay for petrol. I sold it after one cylinder partially seized at 140kph due to oil starvation (faulty oil pump methinks) Nothing better than a 2stroke on or off road.

    The key to speed on a bike is lighter - leaving the snacks at home is one way of lightening the pack and the rider....

    Just rock up at Delvera and take a hike. You may find it quite tiring trapping around the mountain so not a good idea if you are sick or injured...
