  1. @Cycle Lab and CWCplease can you DM me as well
  2. AA start bunch for me, curious to know how they know my drinking habits....? ????
  3. I thought I was going to die the last time I rode at Thaba, that place has some proper technical riding
  4. Obviously talking about the rim inner width hey? It is something that annoys me to no end, I see LOTS of people/companies say inner diameter instead of width, has me face palming often
  5. Glad she is with someone who can actually use her, very disappointed that it didnt work out with me, it is an amazing bike
  6. 100%, I did not clarify that well, if you ise the stock chainring, to save on costs, you would need to keep the front derailleur, if you get a narrow-wide chain ring, you could probably loose the derailleur as well, but being a non clutch type derailleur, it would maybe be safer to keep it on, or get a nice neat proper chain guide
  7. Why not have a look at fitting 9 speed wide range cassete? That way all you need to do is remove big and small chainring, if they can be removed that is, and maybe fit a narrow wide chainring, if you left the front derailleur in place and just adjusted the limit screws you could get rid of the shifter as well https://evobikes.co.za/product/sunrace-casette-csm980-9spd-11-40t-blk/ It may not be perfect, but it should work well enough, you wil probably need to add a derailleur hanger extender as well, but it is by far the cheapest option I would imagine
  8. Oom Ben, do you mind if I DM you about a bike I would like to have painted?
  9. Very good option, at R53k at the one shop I know has one it is a really good deal, my personal choice would be the Cypher though, not the Cypher RS
  10. Hau, just because I am fat doesn't mean I am the dangling steak in front of the shark...
  11. THIS, I did EXACTLY the same thing, first bike was a budget R8k bike 3 years ago, 2 weeks later I sold it and got a better bike, and then 2 months later I sold that to get a dual sus, and then 3 months later sold that to upgrade again..... Not saying a dual sus is the be all and all, but I messed my back up many years ago and the dual sus makes riding much more enjoyable for me, I tried a hardtail again 3 weeks ago, because I love hardtails, but it left me with serious back pain for a week after, so it was sold off again
  12. Also depends what mechanical discs they are, i have some avid bb7 on my one bike, initially I wasn't that impressed with their performance, but just a little bit of fiddling and they are properly strong now, and they feel really good, setup is a little bit of a faff, but they work VERY well
  13. Obviously you have not wanted to take your wife cycling for a LONG time then?
  14. Strange, I found it to be fairly thick, I do agree about the thread issue though, I had the same thing happen to me a couple of times now
  15. Thanks guys, I found some on Takealot for pretty cheap, so I just bought those, but thank you for your generous offers
  16. Just using the lube that it comes with for now, seems good enough, I haven't carried it with me anywhere, I just leave it lying flat on my work bench, have not noticed any leaks, the lube is pretty thick, so it takes quite a squeeze to get it on the chain as well
  17. Anybody have some 3x7 trigger shifters they dont need anymore? Can be either just trigger shifters or brake shifter combo things Or even just a 7 speed microshift grip shifter, just want to get a little bike rideable
  18. I wanted to hate this thing so much, but got one for free, and it is pretty awesome, lubing a chain is not a difficult task doing it the "old fashioned" way, but this little thing is actually pretty amazing ????
  19. My first "big" ride in a while, was a good morning out.
  20. That is really cool of you ???? PS if you ever feel like being generous with that Stage you have, it is my size ????????
  21. But you sold that bike AGES ago, you cant post pics of bikes you no longer have ????
  22. How fat is fat? I have some 37c tyres I think...
  23. Not a Spez tyre combo, but I am running Maxxis Dissector front and rear, it has been awesome far, cant see myself changing anytime soon
