  1. Cool thanks for the feedback, Do you know if you must race in their kit, I have running and triathlon club conflicts
  2. Iron Man 70.3 South Africa Iron Man South Africa That's R3000 in discounts right there. Fantastic
  3. jeepers dude, incredible report, hard hitting stuff
  4. You need a serious "human interest story" or a bloody good cause to support. Conventional corporates are just not going to throw cash at you or cover your entry so that you can ride in some branded kit and finish 300th. My advise, bite the bullet and fork out the cash - you wont regret it.
  5. Alex is going to have to do some serious damage control to his brand. Leaving out a new date for the race is a serious mistake, he may as well call it like it is, cancelled!
  6. Did someone steal his boat at the end?
  7. I like where this is going, we have the Cape Town Marathon, the Cape Town Triathlon, now the Cape Town Cycle Tour. The City is a strong international brand in and of itself and should have a basket of international sporting events under its banner
  8. I quite like the idea for those solo rides on my TT rig. When I am cruising along on the aero bars it would be nice to have an inkling of what is happening behind, even if its just to move over to the edge of the road.
  9. Read the article dude “Also, it’s functionality is not affected by the proximity of other cyclists, which is useful when training in pelotons or on family cycling excursions,”
  10. Done and done, have emailed them for more info, I may just hold onto my Ironman and Epic medals though.
  11. Not again. I need to keep a cool head, my gut instinct is to go postal on these guys if it ever were to happen to me, but its really not worth it going south for the sake of a bike. That being said I really hope that these thugs take on the wrong person.
  12. Well.... more like his bike dropped the roadies
  13. I can never see this taking off in a big way. I spotted an elderly couple of ebikes a few months ago, they were just harmless old duffers enjoying the extra comfort. Not your typical type to take to the trails at all. I promise you this; anyone capable of self locomotion will be stripped of all credibility before they hit the first berm. Let em come, be ridiculed and dropped, last time they will hit the trails.
  14. I clearly don't have enough tattoos or beard for that bike
  15. It seems that there have been a few incidences in those areas without street lights around Constantia and Tokai, unfortunately with bright lights we are making very easy targets. I am going to stay in areas with good street lights in future, sad because Spaanschemat rd is one of the best cycling routes in the area, but its just too easy for criminals to ambush you there. I dont believe there is any weapon that can make you safe from someone jumping out and blikseming you off your bike. There is just not enough warning.
  16. The Omerta in cycling as much the practice of denialism, as remaining tight lipped, all I see here is denialism from another group of faceless cyclists. Cyclists who, based on their use of PEDS and recreational drugs, are perhaps not the most credible in any event.
  17. I think they call this the Omerta
  18. Come on guys give us at least an Olympic distance race, I cant get out of bed and drive for two and a half hours for a little splash and dash
  19. PPA may have an issue with me not wanting to renew.
  20. Bad weather is part of the Knysna experience. Embrace it, I certainly will embrace it from the comfort of my couch, while flipping between Le Tour, Rugby, Soccer, Tennis and Ironman Frankfurt
  21. Use LED and you will be fine
  22. So do we now know the reason why no mens Road team was selected for the Commonwealth games, looks like Sascoc got a heads up a month ago
  23. Not really surprising considering the "fine" record that SA has with doping. Look at all the big teams that used to come over here to "train" Rabbobank, Telekom etc.. If I recall correctly Tyler talks about the SA being pretty sophisticated in the doping game in his book. It seems that the best riders are those who are best at evading detection rather than the most talented. Sad state of affairs, I don't think anything has really changed since the 90's and the 00's Let me go watch some reruns of Lance, Ulrich, Pantani, Virenque, Basso etc.. Same same as the current crop
  24. uplighters under the bathroom counter could be nice
  25. I find it somewhat cold and impersonal, bathrooms are bloody difficult to design for that reason, perhaps the lighting is too cold? I think a skirting with a shadow line could be introduced to give a cleaner look to the bedroom. Otherwise good job.
