  1. I think we are old and big enough to understand that the post is not referring to all cyclists but a group of cyclists. It is good to know that the cyclists down at the coast cycle within the rules of the road. Just this morning I saw a group of cyclists cycling through a red robo and it is rather pathetic that some knowledgeable adults will put themselves at risk. I understand the point being here is that inlight of the recent tragedy of our legend MTB'r on our roads, some cyclists still have not realized that riding on the roads must be done with being aware of the dangers as well as by abiding the rules of the road. Enough with the emotional replies, we all are hurting at the loss of Burry
  2. Totally shocked RIP legend To all other cyclists riding our roads, please be extra careful. We have lost many a cyclist on our road, each a legend in their own right, committed to a passion that we all share.
  3. Just like to know how you manage to find it at the timbercity ?
  4. Well giving tha car guard any money should not be debated by his total monthly earning and have it compared to other jobs. It should rather be questioned on whether being a car guard really helps us, does he really guard your car? I don't give them any money. Is that guy really going to put up a fight against any would be car thief who now is probably armed? I think not. A few weekends ago I had taken the family to Emmerantia dam for a Sunday picnic. A lady's car had been broken into and had her stuff stolen. The car was parked in the parking area inside the park. All the car guard could say was that there was a white car parked behind the ladies car. The lady almost killed the guard. They do nothing to help me and so I will not pay for "nothing"

  7. hi all, as i mentioned previously that i want to do the christmas wish again to build and donate mtb. so i plan to start earlier this year. i will be donating a large merida frame. the plan will be to anyone who wants to donate, they could drop off items to a lbs (going to as Dangle if he is going to assist again). we will continue to post the list of items required until we have a complete bike. again we would need some suggestions to whom we can donate the bike to. thanks Myen
  8. unable to vote. company has sent me to Ghana and the IEC has made no provision for voting at the SA Embassy in Ghana.
  9. so we wonder how diff is JZ from Juju, both share the same mentality in exploiting the uneducated to gain votes. but hey thats politics, no one said politicians are the worlds sumaritans! and then there is Steve and the F word!!
  10. depends on your goals and time available
  11. some feedback on the christmas wish from last year. the MTB was donated to the northern farm development. thanks to everyone who wanted to donate parts to the build. sorry i was not able to pick stuff though. so i raked up all the parts from my garage and Dangle supplied some stuff as well. i hope to do the same this year, but will plan it much better. Simon Nash picked up the bike. thanks Dangle for all the help, Mr Ku Klux Klan Pic one of the riders who used it at the last mtb race at northern farms.
  12. Hi all, our company is currently retrenching staff. one of the staff to be retrenched is a our payrolll administrator. if anyone is looking for a payroll administrator with experience in SAP Payroll and VIP Payroll and she has over 15years experience in this field. thanks
  13. scotty, you are right. eish. then i had no problems with racetec
  14. yep, had a similar problem at Carnival. racetec timing was 10 minutes slower that my spedometer.
  15. Schwinn Lover, you are right. i totally agree that we must stand up. Eiger SA has taken this up to the LBS, in the form of a letter, given him time to reply before the NAME and SHAME. so he posted it on the hub as well, makes for some good reading, also allows other hubbers to pass comment and review their relationships with their LBS. i think he has done the right thing. for the LBS, it sucks to know that business owners do not protect their most valuable assets, their staff, by enforcing some sort of learnership. they would lose more money from poor customer service than anything else. when i had first started MTB, i used to shop around to get advice on bikes. i had bought my first GT, and had encountered some problems with the shock. when i had taken it back to the LBS, the technician, looked at the problem, and said that he could not do much as thats how the shock works. i then had taken the bike to another lBS, and was helped by a young cyclist, he called GT, had the shock replaced with an upgraded shock. i had since always gone to the LBS, and specifically that staff with all my bike issues. 6 months later, spent 20k on a new bike. only then the LBS owner started to pay attention when i visited the shop. when the young lad left the shop to work another LBS, i followed. So a note to all LBS owners, take pride in your most important assets, your staff.

    cramps

does the style riding (always seated) cause this muscle to cramp? i used to suffer as well and until recently when i changed my style of riding. i used initially ride pushing heavier gears and low cadence, alternating between seated and standing riding, no problems. then changed the riding to be more seated high cadence, then bam, cramp is there. so i now i have incorporated both riding styles when i ride, and the cramps come very much later.
  18. i hope you pressed "watch this topic for this thread"

    Be Grateful

was ranting to my wife on our current woes, then she brought me down to earth!!! she sent me the following pics! we have so much to be grateful for.
  20. you making me thirsty!!!
  21. how much did you pay for the wheels?
  22. Balsie, why so much of supplements? are you an extremely competitive cyclist? one of the greatest pleasures in life is the variety of food that we can enjoy, and i believe a good diet can provide the majority of nutrition that you are looking for. i also enjoy some competitive cycling, but i keep it to just an energy drink for during rides, protein shake for the mornings (mix with pronutro) and then i have mass builder just so that i dont lose too much of weight from the cycling and a multivitamin. but after that, no other supplements. and dont forget PEANUT BUTTER is king!!!!

    REPLY ON EDGE

+1 seeing that the seller is able to back her point of view, and this might not be a normal scam where the seller has dissappeared. so as AirBender rightfully suggests that this matter can be easily resolved based on its true merits between the 2 parties. fellows hubbers cannot be jury and pass sentence on either party.
