  1. Not the name so much but how about talking about transfers as "transfusions"? Seeing as they are getting in some "new blood" "injected" into the team. Climbing referred to as "taking the plunger" Anyone that falls of the back is "riding with his own engine" Team bus - body shop Im sure there are more
  2. Core is key! The stronger the core - the faster you will be able to correct. Only up to a point - skill is something you will have to work on. My biggest tip would be - carry momentum and RELAX! Easier said than done i know but it makes a big difference especially on the up.
  3. Inov-8 are neutral and also very light and has a bit less padding than some of the other brands out there. Thant being said - they are very comfortable and light. my main concern would be your weight and running style. If you are heavy with a far forward stride - heavy heel strike - you might need more padding. have a decent running shop analyze your gait - running style - and make a recommendation I recommend Running Inn - speak to Riaan.
  4. Im old school. Ride it and see. Personally - only your woman would notice an extra 2.5mm
  5. Ruan Deysel - Spoke works - he`s in Murryfield. spokeworks@iburst.co.za - 082 4 one 2 one 6 8 nine
  6. The biggest Geax Sugarro you can find - 2.2 is great - is wider than most 2.2 is quite high volume + "hy klou soos snot aan n wol kombers"
  7. Yip - the Horst link is renowned for being rafff on bearings! If you need to replace them - just source from a local bearing shop - no need to go premium pricing. If you want to check if your bearings are worn - just take out the shock and feel the travel on the rear triangle. if its scratchy - replace.
  8. Thx Mike - I see it now. Sure we will find some traffic on that route but not nearly as much as pelindaba!
  9. Whats going to be best from Pta side? Over Saartjie`s neck, trough Schoemansville around the back and in? Trying to go past Pelindaba is going to be crazy.
  10. Its prob just a little sticky - my bet is whoever built the bike didnt use copper paste on the splines - now its stuck. Just gently tap it with a rubber mallet and it will pop off. GENTLY!!!!!!
  11. I would not be happy.
  12. Fantastic idea - in theory. Lets hope it proves itself locally!
  13. Yip - love that saddle - just goes to show - no 2 asses are the same!
  14. Try a Fizik Aliante Gamma XM test saddle it you can. Not saying that is the answer but it worked for me.
  15. Kry bietjie van jou eie medisyne Boeta!!!!!!! All-in and balls-out buddy!
  16. My guess is that route will be hard and bumpy - I would go FS if the option was available. If not HT and HTFU!
  17. Did Sani & 3 towers on HT. Can be done but the body takes a bit of a knock. DS will be more comfortable but you do pay a slight weight penalty - so ask yourself, do you find enjoyment in being fast or riding comfortably? Personal pref
  18. Who was it that said "There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing" Some people say silly things!
  19. Tjop - Dop & Skrop - funny how life imitates art.
  20. Its a bit more complicated than that. Your question is kind of like "What temp does your fire need to be to braai?" If its too hot but burns out to quick - you`re screwed If its burns long but not hot enough - your screwed. Also depends on what you want to braai - chicken needs slow burn with lower heat - steak needs a hotter fire. So back to your question - It will depend on your fitness, body type, activity level, type of race ect. We went into a lot of detail when we decided to start our own nutrition brand that we will be launching on the hub soon. We did a lot of research and development in our quest to find the optimal sports drink specifically catered to the endurance athlete. PM me if you would like to know more.
  21. "decent like crazy people" is what I needed to do on day 1 just after going over "dog of a climb" Could have done with just a touch more talent on that one! Ended up costing us 4 min and 2 portions of pride - got the scars to prove it! Still worth it! Mr Singletrack - nice meeting up with you guys. let me know when you need some STF.
  22. Hard as balls mate!!!!! Rode with Rattlesnake and the boy was C for serious!!!! Day 2 was probably the hardest ride I have done - ever!!!! Managed to hang in there on day 3 to the finish - great logistics & food. best value for money stage race out there for sure - but it aint easy - a real hard man`s race! Also managed to run into Karma & Mr Singletrack - nice meeting you guys!
  23. Keep an eye out fellas! There will be a new product launching soon. Cant say too much now but it will be released to Hubbers first! Will keep you updated.

  25. @audiovansa - the links you posted are old school but the principal remains the same. With most wheels now days - excl shimano which has cup and cone bearings - has seal bearings on either side op the hub. Most wheels just have a dust cover that you can pull off - exposing the bearing. With Fulcrum/Mavic, here is a small allen key grub screw that you need to loose to get the cover off. the bearing are just seated inside the hub - so you can just gently knock them out from the other side of the hub using something with a dull end as to not damage the bearing. the bearing then has 2 rubber seals - one on each side - that protects the bearing from contamination. You can list these seals with something sharp or blade like that you can wedge underneath and then lift the seal out. You will then see the actual bearings. Just grease them there and replace the seal wen done. lightly grease or copper paste the hub spaces that the bearings fit into and gently tap the bearings back into place - use a socket head or something similar to get equal pressure on all side to make sure it goes in straight - make sure the bearings sit flush in the openings - refit the dust covers and your done. If the wheel seems to wide ti fit into the frame it prob means the bearings weren`t inserted all the way flush. Just pay attention when you take it apart and you`ll be fine.
