  1. It is quite a monster bike - good to see him carrying on in another line of sport. Lets just hope he can keep the "prezzure" on in the SS race!
  2. I really hope this works out - would be great to have an annual event in Pta. Best of luck to all - especially the organizers!!!
  3. Saw Matt building his Cotic with "BlueBull' blue chain the other day Should be good to see!
  4. Ask politely if you can pass - I have never had anyone not give way when asked. Dont just squeeze past - let the guys know you are coming and ASK politely! Works every time!
  5. Yes it does. It has been done - just need to check the tolerances on your fork - RS, no - Fox, yes.
  6. Did Sani on a HT - body was hurting a bit but it can be done. I would also say my FS is easier in the ruff stuff - especially DH. However - you need to consider your riding style and pricing. I prefer the single pivot-type FS - Scott, Spez, Santa Cruz - it just feels more responsive to me personally.
  7. Agreed Eldron - beat a guy on the bike - not off! Much respect to you if you can ride harder than I can - you deserve right of way and I will give it every time - but dont try to cheat me a like a 2 song lap dance! That **** aint right!
  8. i didnt do shimano but shinamo is easier than Hope. You can do it dry - if the insert gets stuck you can pull it out with a long-nose pliers - if that dies work - just heat it up slightly. New insterts shouldnt be a problem at all. Make sure the hoses are long enough for your handlebars to turn all the way around - in case of a crash / yard sale. If they are too short and you wipe out, the hose will pull out of the lever which means new brake lines. I havent bled shimano - just check out youtube and make your own.
  9. You just need to knock it out with something from the other end of the BB - something 29.5mm or smaller will work. Gently tap it with a hammer / mallet. The adapter merely pressed on. Otherwise - use something like a bearing puller that screws into the BB thread. It shouldn't be to tight - normally kept in place by 2 o rings.
  10. Hey Forthefun I might have an option for you. We are a new nutrition company that decided to do our own thing. We wanted the best ingredients, in a specific combination at the best price – so we started STF. The whole idea was started with a discussion on nutrition for Trans Bavians. We wanted to make something suited for MTB`ers needs but couldn’t find something that covers all basis. So we enlisted the help of a food scientist, nutritionist and some MTB riders. We all listed our needs, and this was the result: www.singletrackfuel.com We used one of our friend with a stomach as soft as some of the “computer cowboys” on the hub - as a test subject and it worked fine for him. However, you sound like a special case. We would like to send you some sample of our Marathon Fuel and Recovery booster to test. We are just as keen to see what happens as you are. We used a mixture of carbs - from low GI for sustained energy, to quick absorbing (vitargo) - to make it easier on the stomach. we believe in putting our product out there – rather than just endlessly ranting on. So, would you be keen for us to send you some sample? And more importantly – would you be willing for us to use your feedback in marketing? PM me if you are. Vince
  11. Im in for this one, my annual tar ride - really hope it happens - plenty of traffic that needs to be re-routed. Good luck to the organizers
  12. Its been almost a year now - any updates? Im going to either run or ride it this weekend.
  13. Really like the idea - soon as hub gearing can catch up this will be the std. Love it on SS.
  14. That`s what I was afraid of... I guess it might work for you but as with bike fit - its about getting the right tool for the job. THAT tool - is not for this job!
  15. Any recommendations? I`ve tried to google it but what pops up is not what Im looking for. No male grooming No male massage expert for deep relaxation No "at home relaxation" My lags and lower back hurt - I need a good sport massage - not a massage with sports! I want to walk in - over lunch hour - get a massage - not get sorted - and walk out. More physio that cyro I guess. No cuddling needed - I dont care how pretty your sister is. Ok - Iet see what answers I get - Pta east & Montana pref. Thanx
  16. The irony in your name vs what you are planning is great!
  17. Stay with what you have! Stop mucking about!
  18. I believe in giving credit where it`s due, so to Graham at Cape Cycles thanx for: 1. Tending to my call immediately and giving me your direct email 2. Making arrangements to ensure my problem gets dealt with as soon as it arrives at your shop to avoid further delays 3. keeping me up to date with the progress as well as options regarding the matter 4. Going the extra mile in getting me the color I wanted and having the item repaired - SAME DAY! Struggled for 7 weeks with another supplier so dealing with Cape Cycles was a pleasure. Will go out of my way to support their brands in future. That`s my Rave for the day!

  20. Common sense form Eldron. Never underestimate simple explanation !
  21. If you are looking for a reducer to run a 1 1/8 steerer in a tapered headset - I have a Ritchey reducer + crown race for you. PM me if you like.
  22. Another case for dont hand anything over till cash is in hand - if someone cant wait for the EFT to clear, be carefull. Sorry to hear.
  23. Im with ya big guy - I was very happy do my first brake line swap and bleed in my garage - and it worked. I love tinkering and working on my own bike - I just want to do a fork course still. When I have plenty on my mind - the bike comes apart - clean - lube - adjust, and then I feel better. It really rubs me the wrong way when something does quite work the way it should.
  24. The old timer who lived their died of a heart attack - I almost did too the first time I walked in there. However - believe it or not - that was NOT the worst paint job in the house! We repainted EVERYTHING, in the house, before we could move in. I still get stick from my mates about the garage when they come visit! There is actually 3 bike up there now with the new addition - all out the way of Mrs da Buther`s wicked parking skills.
  25. Here is what I did with mine - Mrs Da Butcher dont like them in the house. Took 10 min to put up. Excuse the bad paint job in the garage - previous owner was a M series fan - in the 80`s
