  1. Design looks good - paint job is not my thing but looks ok. What is the backup going to be in SA? Bearing kits, spares ect? Weight to price ratio looks ok - should be interesting to ride it and see! Good luck - you seem to be on the right track! Do you want to keep it niche or go main stream?
  2. Ive been running the supersonic 2.4 on the front for the last 7 months. I run it a little low - 1.8bar - for better grip. I really like it but have burped it twice - due to the lower pressure I assume. Still like it but would prob go with 2.2 UST next time.
  3. Scott did a 3-selector rear shock on range a while back - sure they still do. It worked like a lock out for your front shock with a lever on the bar. Think it might have been DT Swiss that did the shock - sure someone will know. Personal opinion - I ride a Fox RP2 on the back. It is what I need when I need it - for what its worth. Hope you come right mate.
  4. I just mailed Tim to see if they are riding. Cool - ill be there - 08:00am Havent see big Tim the rustler in a while - should be a gas!
  5. Shoot a "Sup" to him from me. Are we looking at about a 80km on thursday? Let me know how its going down! Later
  6. Where can I find that air horn????????? I needzz it!
  7. Keen on a thursday morning MTB. Let me know of time & place. What ever happened to Stewie911 - havent seen him around in a while
  8. Front derailleurs are 1:1 Sram/Shimano does not matter - you can use your old FD. If you are going with shimano shifters you will need a shimano rear derailleur as well. Shimano rear is 1:2 sram rear is 1:1 Rear shifter and derailleur needs to be of the same manufacturer
  9. I did the same on my wife`s bike a while back. Here is what you would more than likely need: Disc compatible wheelset - go tubeless if you can - bicicletta have a great special on their Ritchey WCS. Your wheel/hubs will either take 6-bolt rotors or center lock rotors - make sure you have the right ones. You do get an adapter to go from center lock to 6-bolt if you need but it is extra and I dont recommend it. Look at your fork - it might be post mount or IS standard - that is the way the brake caliper connects to the fork. Post mount - you dont need an adaptor - IS mount - you will need an adaptor. Make sure which mount your fork has. You will need an adapter for the rear brake - 160 or 180. Other than that you should be fine. Discs make a big diff to your ride. Sort out your brakes first - XT derailleur is more than fine, even SLX is fine - leave that for later. Enjoy.
  10. I have heard of it, but not used it. From what I have heard it works ok. Not quite sure if its worth it?
  11. I like the signs of constant progression in all area`s of design. It shows a keen interest in trying new things! Explorer mentality!
  12. Share the passion - on and off the field!
  13. Nice one Pete! Cool thing about spinning is that you & the Mrs can do classes together at diff intensity! Both can achieve their own goals. Nice one to the lady! Keep going! Come join us Tues
  14. Bon Accord - and no, I would not recommend it! Local folk might think you are a mutated catfish - they like catfish!!!
  15. Zula for me - would be very keen to take a look at a 29 Zula. Does anyone know if there is one in the pipeline? Hope they keep it real and stay with an Ali!
  16. Most jockey wheels are compatible - however there is a diff between the upper and lower wheels - dont switch them around. The lower wheel has a little bit of "travel from left to right to help guide the chain the upper wheel doesnt. The amount of gunk will stay the same with KCNC wheels as it sits between the cage and wheel. 2 things that will minimize the gunk - 1. Clean the jockey wheels regurarly - I did sani and just sprayed them off. 2. Wet lube for muddy rides - really does help. Also try not to ride big blade front and big sprocket rear as this puts tension on the rear derailleur and moves the lower jockey wheel closer to the ground picking up more ka@k. No need to clean it off during a ride - wet lube will help - but deff clean out grass and twigs when you are finished. Hope it helps PS: Sram has less of this that shimano - personal opinion!
  17. Mate - one of the better editing jobs I`ve seen. Would love to see what you can do with XC & marathon footage!!! Keep it up mate!
  18. I love Sram - just would not ride their brakes - they have some serious issues with the last brakes. That said - Im not a Avid fan at all - so I might be a little judgmental! The rest looks really good!
  19. Nice, nice guys - top quality. Love how you guys find shots in the strangest of places - really captures the mood. Well done!!!!! Final editing is where you guys set yourself apart!!!!
  20. That looks fantastic!!!!!!!
  21. I know it sound stupid but those black encased magnets have a tendency to "expire" or deplete their magnetic capability. Had the same problem - sent it back to Polar 3 times - got a new magnet - R 30.00 - worked perfectly. Dont ask me "why" but at R 30 its an easy fix. Hope you come right.
  22. Try new killer bee`s on a mavic tubeless rim. 3 Blokes and 5 tyre levers later it was on - forever!!!
  23. Slow guy also paid to ride there. Communicate your intentions to pass clearly and politely and pass when it is safe to do so! Julius is enough of an ass for all of us - no need to be a jerk. The person in front has right of way - as long as he/she is riding! Someone once tried to push Mrs. The Butcher off the trail once - we had a quick chat. You dont own the singletrack - enjoy the privilege - you can always go back and do it again or give the slowpokes a gap before you rock-out-with-ya-cock-out! Play nice
  24. Uncle Chopper likes - this emoticon just needs a 'stach!
  25. Agents are Rush sports - these are by far the best set of wheel I have ever ridden. Very strong and super fast rolling - bought the second hand - still true as tits. If you can get them - get them! Last set of wheel you will prob ever buy.
