  1. Now that you guys are kindly answering a few questions here, why are bike shop prices in Sa generally so expensive, so expensive that you can often import a part all the way from Europe express to your door and still save R1000+ after shipping and duties vs local bike shop price. Is it the local Sa importers/distributor that add a sizeable chunk to the price, or is it the bike shops or is it both?
  2. I don't think that's acceptable at all. What did they say when you asked them about the damage?
  3. Allywatz Prolapse Edition?? No man Odinson, thinking about the journey your poor legumes have to take is enough for one day
  4. Have you ever considered the fact that just like cows create a lot of methane and that negatively affects the world in terms of greenhouse gases your excessive legume eating and concurrent flatulence may be offsetting any benefit your veganism may have for the world at large?? Also Arborio rice is an awsome variety of rice and makes just about anything more palatable, especially bean/chilli dishes.
  5. OMG, is this the new crossfit thread??

  9. Do they use std sized easily available bearings available from places like Bearing man etc?
  10. Staged - as in none of the drinks were real just tins or glasses filled with plain Coke or water?
  11. Solve greed and you'll have solved the most serious blight on the face of the earth. Everyone becoming vegan is like putting a nice big Disney plaster on the problem but it won't solve the underlying issues. Get everyone meditating 30mins a day and you'll naturally see some pretty radical shifts towards positive sustainable human lifestyles. Veganism is a noble cause but its the underlying mind shift that would be motivating that choice which is actually needed. Horse before the cart. Vastly less meat consumption would be a good solution, limiting the farming of farm animals to only those that can be treated in a humane manner would be sufficient to bring the whole industry down to sustainable and decent levels. Ie ban feedlots, caged animals in tiny coops, factory farming etc.
  12. That is a good point, a bigger chainring would keep me in the bigger cogs for longer, I do run smaller chain rings than most people. That being said on 1x setups people do run a far smaller chain ring than the largest they would typically be running on a 2x setup, almost unavoidable?
  13. Awesome company, they deliver anywhere in Sa.
  14. Does anyone find the smallest cog wearing before the rest wears out? I find that often happens on 10sp so I replace them once or twice during the life of the cassette. Are they replaceable on 11 and 12sp cassettes?
  15. That's the kind of sht bodge job you do at home diy the first time when learning. No ways a capable lbs should damage your frame like that, you are paying them for their experience and special tools. They must cough up to cover at minimum the cosmetic damage. Lord only hopes they pushed the new bearings in straight/true and didn't stretch/ovalize the bearing housing in the pivot, considering the damage which implies they didn't have the right tools that is a real possibility.

  17. The people with the BF 50gb contracts can choose a R299 60gb + 60gb night or R469(may be R549) 100gb + 100gb, nothing else avail to beat either of those if you need mobile data.
  18. Until you buy them and try them on at home..

  20. Isn't riding bikes like that on the rough stuff a tad uncomfortable?
  21. R100!! That's crazy cheap, have you seen any of them in use or heard reports? I'm especially interested in how focused the beam is, most of the Chinese "spotlights" are just uber bright floods and can't be run on road because they blind the on coming traffic
  22. Do you have a link to either of those sets, I've never seen Led headlights at Midas before? How focused are the spots or are they more like mini floods?
  23. Heal up soon mate, I've had some heart stopping moments with cars turning in front of me, hope you nail the driver, if not criminally then at least for costs. I think you can also claim from the Raf. How do you wipe your bum?Asking for a friend.
  24. What zombie movie did that guy act in?
