  1. From my experience with running shoes one size bigger than your standard shoe gives ample room for your foot to shift a bit and not have your toes slamming into the front. In terms of these vivobarefoot shoes how should they fit, also one size up from your normal shoe size or same size because they are barefoot shoes?
  2. How are those running shoes sized, true to size or big/small fit?keen to get a pair but had a sizing mess up on a recent online order and now hesitant to order shoes online.
  3. Well there you go R400 on special, can't argue with that price , those guys normally sell them at R650 though, the black/gum looks sick.
  4. Just got some Etnies Rap Ct shoes, its their Bmx team shoe, very tacky sole/perfect tread pattern and grips like crazy so far, actually quite hard to shift my foot around. Costs about R600, seems they are a bit longer than usual so if your normal shoe size is on the big side perhaps go one size smaller.
  5. There's a hubber selling new Pikes in the classifieds for R9k and a step up from that is the MRP Stage from Bibi, both of which are priced from those guys at amazing rates. I'd lean on the side of the US made MRP with some pretty nifty features the Pike doesn't have, never mind the support from Bibi.
  6. To a small degree, didn't say I was perfect and neither would I say you are innocent in that respect either but I'm not the guy walking around with a flame thrower as some enjoy doing. And its very easy to get drawn into a spat when people are so latently aggressive, not surprising many threads rapidly devolve into a mess. There is a pattern as anyone on thehub can attest to, the baiters come baiting and then keep the fire nicely fuelled from there on.
  7. Oh the irony I love thehub but it has been getting quite oppressive, some posters are pretty fixated on trying to bring out the worst in others, things would be much merrier if all and sundry were focused more on trying to bring out the best in people.
  8. Which are the best sport streaming sites, they all seem quite dodgy and hard to get a decent stream without negotiating a million pop ups and ads?
  9. The protections also have the highly rated black chilli tyre compound where as the pure grip is apparently more of a harder budget compound.
  10. What's with the scammers wanting to pay with payfast these days? The last week I had one of these idiots rashing me, was very insistent that I open a payfast acc and that he pay via them. Strung him along for a while then told him to collect the item at the cop station
  11. This thread has been very quiet, where's all the chaps with the new Hope brakes range, any long term reviews?
  12. Very little difference apparently, TLE is just what the marketing men decided 2015 Schwable tyres should call their tubeless ready state... So in essence if they are TLE then you know they are the new 2015 tyres.
  13. Me too had 2 or 3 bad twists on one ankle, trail running is not easy to dodgy ankles
  14. Mmm hopefully see some nice product integration between the brands?
  15. I love the feeling of being on 2 wheels but there's something magical about foot to ground contact, I want to start trail running.
  16. Yours have lasted quite well though, saw somewhere on another thread you mentioned your trailstars frt and back have lasted over 2500km?
  17. Edit. Ok you've added it is trail star compound, min wear, does he do some long distance rides aswell? That's the conclusion I've come to as well, it must be heavily influenced by the riders weight because some people have no issues for virtually the life of the tyre and others rip knobs in a ride or 2.
  18. What compound is that tyre?
  19. Would love to get the SG ones, only avail online self import at the moment probably nearer R1k a tyre I reckon, must be really nice being able to drop the press so low though. This whole tearing knobs off, which seems to often happen at the base of the knob, is related to the underlying compound not the softer top compound, the softer compound is a relatively thin layer over the base compound which is the same on all the HDs incl the SG. But to my original question, am I being dof not going trailstar on the front, seems not much wear difference over the pacestar on the front but noticeably grippier?
  20. Anyone that can confirm these are SG as Capricorn seems to be implying?
  21. They not SG are they, the ones from easybike, just normal Evo snakeskin? These ones here: www.easybike.co.za/schwalbe-hans-dampf-evo-snakeskin-pacestar-26-x-2-35-tl-ready.html
  22. Am I being dof not getting a trailstar for the front, can still change it, looks like the wear difference on the front is only marginal with a trailstar vs pacestar and the extra grip is worth it?
  23. Just occurred to me, will there be enough clearance at the back on a Morewood Shova? The 2.35 HD pump up to around 60mm wide incl lugs? Going to be cutting it fine
  24. After some lamenting on the possibility of tearing lugs I pulled the trigger on 2 HD Pacestars with snakeskin, R500 special each at easybike.co.za and R85 courier delivery, can't see me getting much better value for money than that no matter the make/model of tyre. Had enough of compromising my life riding with budget tyres, one solid washout/burp could cost me a whole lot more than the price of 2 tyres in medical bills. The 2.4 MK I I'm running are pretty kif but dodgy side walls, had a super sketchy burp recently, made me realize compromising on tyres is not so sharp, been running them pumped up like balloons since because I don't want to chance a burp. HD pricing in SA is quite competitive with most online websites in the Us/Uk, most of the sites sell the Evo HD for R600-R900 a tyre, Crc sells the HD Evo for just on R500 excl shipping.
  25. That's just what I want to hear! And the pacestar is grippy enough, no need to go trailstar in the front? Trailstar will have more tendency lose lugs I'm assuming due to the softer compound, but some people mentioned shredding the pacestar on the rear but the trailstar on the front still perfect. Did you get your HD's from Easybike?
