  1. Front brake cable should be routed on the inside/wheel side of the lowers, not on the outside
  2. I like the colourways and that's it's a more normal looking shoe, some bike shoes look like they got caught in a rainbow and whatever colours stuck was what they make them in.
  3. I got this same dumb email advert, also thought WOW!!! Followed the link and then saw oopsy just one side, you know like my bad who buys brakes in pairs, moggoes buy brakes in pairs, real cyclists by brakes in singles.
  4. Move to Capetown if you are not there already, those lonely hipsters will sell their souls for a nice smacked up old road bike! But jokes aside, the problem with eBay is the size of the Atlantic between them and us. No ways in hell you will sell a bike worth a few thousand rand overseas, the shipping is to expensive, the very old and collectible ones worth R10-20K or more perhaps but you will need to pay a truckload to have them securely delivered so eBay doesn't find you in contempt and take away all your money if it gets lost in transit. eBay is a minefield from hell if you sell things, do a lot of research, as you don't want to get on the wrong side of eBay/Paypal as a seller because that is a fight you unequivocally will lose. You could rather break up the bikes and sell the smaller sized spares on eBay, even the frames if they are worth it, shipping again will be the deciding factor. That trek is a really good looker, if you want to make money selling them locally you will need to learn how to polish the sh1te out/off of them. The local market for these old racers etc is definitely growing.
  5. Shame man, Condolences and strength to his family. Man taken in his prime, RIP
  6. Saw these shoes announced, look very decent, probably not going to be much less if any than other brands in the same segment though! http://brimages.bikeboardmedia.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/2015-specialized-2FO-flat-mountain-bike-shoe2.jpg http://brimages.bikeboardmedia.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/2015-specialized-2FO-flat-mountain-bike-shoe1.jpg
  7. That pic is amazing, I can see the view and smell the air as if I was here!
  8. Good idea, probably be super interesting and fun, access to spots you could never normally ride. Wonder how much it will be?
  9. Any chance Fox can start an online store like Billabong/Dakine has at swindle.co.za?
  10. HAUW! So that basically is cover that will payout to patients if the doctor makes a stuff up?
  11. Never had a problem using a Sa visa or MasterCard on international sites, can't you get the stuff on eBay or elsewhere?
  12. Good luck finding her! So sad to lose a hairy friend
  13. And how does pmb relate to medical emergencies? I have been told if I go into an ER but I am not subsequently admitted to hospital then all costs are out of my own pocket.
  14. This is news to me and I would imagine many, so if you are in a car accident the attending duty surgeon charges 500% medical aid rates and your plan only covers up to 300% they have to cover the full 500% rate because it's an emergency? Wonder how many med aids try pull a fast one when billing time comes round in that situation?
  15. I'd give the whole bike a good once over, check for play/looseness in anything. Maybe check all the fastners are tight, takes 10mins.
  16. And if you live elsewhere!? What about their retail partners?
  17. Interesting info, strengths to you to overcome. I have learnt to keep an eye on the whole, the human body/mind works as a unit, a problem/deficiency in one area can create issues/compensation in another. Stress/how you feel/outlook I have noticed is a big factor with health in general.
  18. Price approx?
  19. Let us know please and also ask them why they make it so hard to purchase their stuff? It's easy these days, google Sa search should at least throw up some way of buying the stuff either locally online or brick shop.
  20. SLX and Xt are virtually the same in all respects apart from the Xt's having more adjustments/lighter/better looking, the important parts brake power and levers virtually identical. SLX are the value kings
  21. That's the question, where can they be bought, preferably brick store so they can be fitted? Always amazes me with manufacturers that supply product for review and no retail list. Its like look at our awesome stuff but well you probably can't find it anywhere so carry on dreaming.
  22. eBay will probably have rebuild kits. Google and find out what seals it uses in the levers, as Droo mentioned it may just be orings. Maybe also try Spez Sa, Magyar is oem on their bikes, they should have spares
  23. That 3-way swinger is not a bad shock, sounds like the service done didn't get done properly, they're apparently very easy to service and you only need o-rings from an industrial supply store to rebuild them. I'd get the shock 100% , you may find it's perfectly up to the job and if not you have a good working order shock to sell to help fund the no doubt damn expensive upgrade. The monarch is awesome, costs around R3,5k tho, remember as well new shock means new shock bushings, around R650 a set.
  24. You can probably get a BB match the frame part(not sure what they are called) or BB converter to make the crank work, all kinds of funny parts that make seemingly incompatible cranks work in different frames, can't solve every situation though. The FD you'll have to buy one that fits the new frame, no way around that one.
  25. You get some pretty dik hose clamps, the band on the ones used on extreme pressure fluid lines are almost 1mm thick.
