  2. that would be me then :-)
  3. I am using this (imported) single wheel trailer with full air suspension - even on single trail. Benjamin digs it and falls asleep within 20 minutes. Best thing I ever bought, to actually get a proper work out and not sacrifice too much time away from the boy. Working on getting mom involved now...
  4. check out this site for the Ferrari amongst offroad trailer: www.pro-biketrailer.net
  5. where can one purchase gliders in CPT?

  7. cool, thanks for the advise - will do some research to try and find my way from Gardens to the actual cycle path and then get going soon!
  8. sounds like a good statistic - I need to sort my gym membership out to be able to shower before work. stupid question as I have never ridden into town: should I take my MTB or are road bike tires fairly safe on the cycle path (glass, thorns, or is it fine?, don't want to end up fixing tires every second day :-)
  9. my planned route exactly, from Edgemead. but am nervous about that Bosmansdam section (N7 offramp crossing onto Bosmansdam) - and haven't figured out the shower plan. when are you leaving in the AM?
  10. air freshener, marble, hand soap and 4 ply toilet paper, gentle music, warm and cold water, air hand dryer. sort of beats the bake-in-the-sun portaloo by miles :-) and it's less than 500m to the start!
  11. "Be the change you wish to see in this world"
  12. Parked in the CTICC, R30 for the day, went to the beautiful toilet in the 5***** Westin Hotel, rolled to the start, finished race, and used the N1 exit straight out of the parking onto my way home. Was brilliant!
  13. at least I get my helmet dandruff under control, finally. and had wheatbix for lunch just now. So all good. who cares - it's about the ride, not the goodies.
  14. I think overexposure might have played a role here... :-)
  15. Well done, my wife (who had no interest in cycling since I know her) asked me yesterday: "I think it's time you get me a bike. I like full suspension and XT components"... They do tend to surprise...
  16. Am sure your info is correct. You have convinced me, I will from now on also speed and find nothing wrong with it.
  17. but then people would complain about the lack of fairness, like they are complaining about a hidden speed trap. you know, we have to keep the policing fair, so that there is a chance to slow down to avoid fines and speed freely the rest of the time.
  18. I thought speed limit is 60km/s an any town in South Africa, by default. No sign (excuse) needed. You know, because children tend to cross roads.
  19. anywhere in CPT where people justify driving faster than the speed limit and complain about cars hitting cyclists at the same time. like these guys: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/113678-driving-to-the-argus-race-be-careful/
  20. simple answer - being over the limit. And that sign suddenly jumped there out of nowhere and surprised you, I guess.
  21. maybe it should rather read: "Reddersburg in the Free State is another terrible place for speeding". No excuse for speeding, anywhere. Simple as that.
  22. So we are complaining about policing speed limits and bikes being hit by speeding cars in the same forum, every day. Stick to the rules.
  23. Yet many of us spend R600 on a (bike) tire or R 10 K on a set of wheels without any hesitation.
  24. make sure you don't buy the passion fruit - smells and tastes like dry vomit. Not that I know what that tastes like :-) But it works.
  25. Anyone need a lift from Cape Town, leaving Thursday. Space for bike, bring some music. PM me!
