  1. so we are fighting one black market by buying guns on another black market?! mature approach this...
  2. cycled 7 days offroad in Namibia in July 2009, 350km in 40 degree heat, my wife gave birth to this 10 month later... do the maths :-)
  3. Agreed, as I am colour blind, it works for me though - but don't expect it to be any lighter than normal frames (whatever they're made off...) :-) I guess you are referring to the Nine Elite ligth blue, which even came with light blue spokes... Eeeew.
  4. Hello, what size is it? (this is a classified ad, right...?) :-)
  5. what do you mean, there are people riding for fun out there...?
  6. Love it when the trail talks foreign. or with an accent. :-)
  7. About time. How can we complain about rides being run over by cars and at the same time call the police trying to stop offenders "vukkers" and "pigs".
  8. As long a I still see fellow riders jump red robots every single day in Cape Town traffic (am going to start posting pictures here...), I feel embarrassed asking for more respect from drivers in vehicles. Yes, I am a cyclist, I do like the "Think bike" campaign, but at the end of the day "just as one shouts into the forest, so it echoes back". Most mornings I want to re-design a sticker "Think, biker!" which half the time is more appropriate when I see another guy on a road bike / mountain bike / single speed bike (there is no difference) sneak past the queue, and conveniently ignoring red robots. Rant over...
  9. +1 "death penalty" & "necklacing" would be the last thing we need here.
  10. Nice couch that too!
  11. Haha...sounds so familiar...the water bottles are actually becoming the bigger issue, cause they start filling a cupboard, not just a show box like the medals do. any alternative uses for water bottles out there?
  12. only trailer with air suspension I could find: http://www.tout-terrain.de/1/produkte/anhaenger/singletrailer/index.html But - is it right that the little one gets 200mm of travel and I only have 100mm? :-) Anyone got one of those for sale?
  13. Ooops. I also felt sorry for the tuna. but won't argue the intentions or ethics of the photographer. For him it was a positive moment and he shared it, so I understand. My humble opinion, which doesn't see the need for that dinosaur display, will be kept to myself.
  14. if I remember correctly last year the parking lot was covered in frost when I arrived.. so 6 degrees is quite pleasant..:-)
  15. Damaraland ride, Namibia
  16. thanks everyone - much appreciated. Looks like a cane creek it is. :-)
  17. true as Bob. so it would be have a fairly limited effect, as one normally stands when it gets rough... thanks though!
  18. Hello, due to the lack of both rear suspension on my current MTB and available funds, I am considering a suspension seat post - are they rubbish or would they add any significant comfort? I specifically like Suntour's "parallelogram based" version. Has anyone got experience with this one, or suspension seat posts in general? Advice much appreciated! http://www.srsuntour-cycling.com/index.php?screen=sh.detail&tnid=2742&sid=1
  19. I don't call myself a DH biker or XC biker or roadie or whatever box I should fit into, I ride for the fun of it - but I do try to apply common sense. Someone flying down a hill can't break quickly, so I would move out the way (should I ever decide to ride up a DH trail). Common sense, just like stopping at a red robot.
  20. Not often that a post makes me tear up. Let me rephrase, some posts do make me cry, but for other reasons... :-)
  21. +1 ! Saw a roadie on Bosmansdam in Edgemead at 6:45 this morning (still dark...) in black (probably Assos) clothing without helmet and no lights. Tried to take a picture, but might as well post a black square, that's how much one could see...
  22. There's a Thule shop on Bree Str, revolution cycles. Maybe you can try some options there on the way back tomorrow :-)
  23. They are farmers but do have phones, and Judy is super helpful. Enjoy the ride, not the rant...
  24. Does anyone have experience with Miway bike insurance? Should I go with them?
  25. Great to see someone helps us on a 29" :-)
