  1. Mine are the RT62 M rotors of which the rear one shudder a lot when braking hard moving toward stand still. At higher speed and light braking it is all fine. I will take them apart later today to see if there are pieces missing on the sides of the pad from any "grating"
  2. I think you are a super duper sensitive bunch
  3. Ek sal myne ook maar uithaal en deeglik skoon maak , disks en pads
  4. Hehehehe Don't be so sensitive. I meant it well when I said the cat might not feel loved - if you know the general character of cats you will understand my statement. You referred to the cat's dad as your friend - therefore your friend is a male cat? (which is also a fellow cyclist and a hubber)
  5. They sometimes do that when they don't feel loved.
  6. I don't think those Maxxis are as soft as the Schwalbe's - the Maxxis will probably last longer but not grip as nicely. I cannot say anything about the rolling resistance. I currently run crossmark on the rear and monorail in front but am planning to get a set of Rocket Ron's and Nobby Nics soon (again) because I used to like them for the grip. The only reason why my last tyre change included the Maxxis was because I did a lot of riding on road and the Schwalbe's didn't last long on road and therefore the maxxis were a more economical option. But for ardent and Ikon I have no personal reference and just assume they will be harder because of my crossmark and monorail experience. So, for durability my choice will be Maxxiss, but for confidence and grip Schwalbe!
  7. I am also experiencing shuddering on my rear 180mm since I put new pads on. It shudders at very low speeds - been doing it for about 200km's Your vibration may be due to it being a new disc that needs some time. I know some new discs might need some time to "bed in" - when they vibrate it is sometimes suggested to sand it with very fine paper on top of a hard and perfectly flat surface. I am not sure why my brakes are shuddering now because I have changed pads a couple of times in the past - perhaps I need to bleed my brakes which was last done 4 years ago....?
  8. I will definitely check out the DBX 1.0's as a second pair.
  9. Got me some TheBusiness Enduro's today for R990 and will try them out this weekend on some 2 hr + rides. My old Indola Baggy (2012) served me good but does get uncomfortable after 1&1/2 hrs in the saddle- hope the new one's will perform as good as people say they do.
  10. I have a Dremel tool if anyone needs a bike fit
  11. I agree - A tape measure, pencil, a piece of string with weight and a spirit level + your wife or friend? (just keep your friend away from your wife)
  12. So Bru the question now is what to do? 1st prize would be to get you comfortable on your existing M Scott (Comfortable both physically, mentally and emotionally ) Saddle set backwards if possible, Reverse your stem, Lower Saddle post slightly ??? My thinking is if you managed to ride the bike thus far without extreme discomfort and pain, you could probably still ride it for some time to come without having to buy a new one?
  13. They do it to help us so we can learn. They are our teachers
  14. Never fully trust the guy at your LBS but rather become the master yourself to understand how to size and fit your own bikes. I am 1.81 and visited a Bike shop a while back to look at some road bikes, one model specific, and the only size on the floor was a Medium. Based on the salesman the Medium was the perfect size for me with a nice discount thrown into the deal as well. I have sized myself based on previous rides and their reach and tube sizes and know that a Large is the best frame size for me for this specific bike - The salesman however had some very special skill / gift whereby he could just by looking at me for 30 seconds size me up perfectly? - no I don't think so. I am very sure that if the size on the floor was a Large he would have made different calculations to fit me on it?
  15. maybe not enough lubrication?
  16. ... and lubrication also
  17. Once the kids are there then cycling is pretty much reduced to zero.
  18. By looking at the stages offered it seems like there are 5 x MTB + 1 x Cyclocross - but nothing Gravel specific? Or am I misunderstanding?
  19. Just keep in mind the wolftooth will not extend the range of your derailure. It can increase rear capacity, but the derailure range needs to remain in spec.
  20. Check your rear suspension pivot / eyelit - the front or chamber side. Remove pivot and clean + apply little bit of grease to then listen if the squeak is still there.
