    ISM ADAMO SADDLE

There is a Bontrager saddle where the width of the split in the front of the saddle is adjustable. May be something to look at if you find the Adamo split not to your liking.
  2. I found it easiest to work only one aspect of the stroke at a time and continue doing it until I get that right (even if it takes days) before moving onto the next thing to correct. Using a pull buoy and one of those snorkels that rise in front of the face are helpful for stroke correction as they allow you to concentrate on the stroke itself and not everything else. Once the stroke is corrected, then worry about the rest.
  3. Never had any issue with them.
  4. I saw three ladies ignore the cops and ride dangerously between the cars crossing the intersection, and another two people being abusive to the cops, who in term got extremely pissed off and threatend to arrest one of them should they ignore his instruction to remain stopped. When one of the guys tried to pacify the cop he said he was getting abuse from triathletes the entire morning. To be fair I saw many more participants taking it in their stride and taking the opportunity to joke and chat to others. I got stopped three times at intersections but never for more than a minute. While it is a race and ideally shouldn't have any stops, motorists also have places to go to and probably time frames to stick to as well, so they are inconvenienced too. Given that we had two lanes to use for 19km of the cycle leg and no cars to dodge (unlike in many cycle races) I am okay with the occasional inconvenience of stopping.
  5. Sure, he is only risking his own life, but just think if he did bash into the truck and die, and a kid riding in a car with his parents saw that happening - what sort of trauma would that kid (or any other motorist) go through? It is idiots like him who give all cyclists, including those who are trying their level best to stay safe and not piss motorists off, a bad reputation.
  6. How many people are actually willing to get involved, and will stop someone on a stolen bike and effect an citizen's arrest or take the bike off the person?
  7. I would agree if the event was not sold out, or if the entrant could not be replaced. Its when the organisers profit out of your injury by reselling your entry at full price without you getting any recompense that I feel the lack of empathy creeps in.
  8. I think if an event is sold out then there should be a substitution fee charged if a replacement can be found. In previous years when IM was never sold out then I think it might have been possible to defend the no-refund rule. Lacking empathy towards your customers however is never good business sense.
  9. Isn't it safer to swim inside the buoys so that the paddlers don't need to go around you?
  10. May work. I know that if you rub a cut potato across your windscreen it has the same effect as those 'no rain' liquids. It may be tricky getting a small enough piece of potato to get sufficient consistent coverage of the inside of the goggles (even in the corners). On the plus side if it doesn't work and you need to apply spit to the inside of the lenses you just lick the goggles and get some carbs in at the same time!
  11. Keep the insides of the googles dry, and put them on before your face gets wet. Its only when there is moisture can they fog up. You can also try Johnsons baby shampoo (the yellow no tears one). Can be mixed in a 1:4 ratio with water and wiped on the insides of the goggles. Works well.
  12. Apparently Defenders are going out of production in December 2015, as they won't be able to meet EU and US regulations.
  13. Which probably explains why the top of the croc is so hard, and the underbelly so soft....

    Carte Blanche

Maybe you spent three hours a day screwing around at work (possible if you are a Hubber, lol), and he will now save on bandwidth, electricity, telephone and the bar fridge.
  15. Hellopeter them, twitter them and also post on their facebook wall. At least you have the knowledge and ability to take them on, so they will probably eventually and reluctantly compromise if they see you are not backing down. The poor oke in the street without resources will get shafted for whatever worth he has left, and there are so many of these people around that to take the flack from a few customers is financially worthwhile for Nashua, as the majority don't know the law and have no resources to get recourse. Shame on Nashua. They really have no ethics.
  16. I've heard and read of many such incidents. Is the solution then to not get the criminal arrested after subduing them i.e. not get the police involved in the justice part of things?
  17. What the client wants is simple: "get me out of this s*** no matter what it takes". And then the lawyer starts giving advice. Its not the client who comes up with the strategy on how to defend himself. I do agree with your second paragraph though.
  18. Generally I think lawyers are more to blame here than the law (not sure of your incident). The law is there to investigate anyone who claims they have been assaulted. The lawyers on the other hand manipulate the law to the benefit of their clients and their own reputation. A lawyer would advise his clients to lay a counter claim, so that in court he can argue that his client was defending himself against you, and not the other way around. There is no end to the length many lawyers would go to to ensure that their client gets off. The truth is an unknown concept to most of them. And once one oke gets off the hook with the counterclaim story, word gets around and every idiot will use it.
  19. Pakistan has 1 million illegal immigrants? Where'd they come from? And over 100,000 criminals in each prison Looks like citizens in many countries face the same issues: few taxpayers, many illlegal immigrants..... and idiots in parliament
  20. I gather from what you said that you did not resist at all. Just to understand the stabbing, did it happen when they approached you, or when they were leaving? Do you feel anything brought that on, or were they just power tripping?
  21. Fixed . Keep in mind the perp is prepared for us before we recognise that he could be a threat. The time it takes for you to recognise and react to imminent danger, reach for, pull and extend the baton, and then build up a swing while keeping balance and avoiding the danger is, I feel, long enough for a perp to stab you or at least knock you off your bike, in which case you could lose your grip on the baton making you even more of an easy target. I still think pepper spray in the back pocket is the way to go - hand over the bike quickly, assess the situation, and if safe for you then use the pepper spray liberally, or alternatively walk away.
  22. I also tell my wife that! Enjoy them.

    Amashova 2013

Said with tounge in cheek! It was my first road race, started off in the rain, and I definately hadn't trained for (any) climbs. Even then it was enjoyable. Do take a few minutes and enjoy the scenery though.

  25. My HRM showed a maximum HR of 212 at Kremetart, which just proves that my wife is right - I am a kid.
