  1. Its also where you go with drought.
  2. Sorry if this is a bit of a hijack, but does anyone travel from Rhodesfield to Marlboro in the mornings and back in the afternoons, and what times do you generally travel? Would be interested to know how busy the Gautrain is, as the biking option is starting to look better and better, given e-tolls and fuel prices.
  3. Would love to see the 5 seconds after that....
  4. Rally X - the tune is now playing in my head!!
  5. Which do you have? I have the Aerious, and I am disappointed. It feels great, and is very flexible, but it is just not durable. I am not hard on my wetsuits, and handle them carefully, but this had a 2cm tear at the neck after two swims, and cost R400 to get sewn and glued together. Very next time I put it on it tore right next to the original tear. My Orca had been worn many times and its still in great condition.
  6. No need for a seeding race, as long as you complete IM in under 17 hours you are able to run Comrades. There is a seperate seeding for IM participants at Comrades.
  7. I suggest taking a look at the Madbarz website - loads of calisthenics routines that you can also do at home - http://madbarz.com/all-routines. Just don't forget to strengthen your back when doing core workouts - too many people concentrate just on abs, forgetting about balancing the core.
  8. I did the CF orientation. In my opinion it seemed way too focussed on how quickly or how many of a WOD you could do, as opposed to the quality of the WOD. I never carried on. I met a guy who started the same time as I did the orientation class about six months after - he stopped after an injury, and saw three guys throw their shoulders out at the box in that time. The instrutor is key - its no good them being certified by CF, they also need to see that each person does what they are doing with the right form and correct the form where it is bad. The CF boxes that get that right would be the ones to go to.
  9. I must be riding my bicycle very wrong, becasue if I were lazy, I would take the motorbike!
  10. I noticed the other day that the new Pringles cans are smaller. You now get 110 grams instead of 165grams, and you pay the same price for two thirds of product, or gram for gram, an increase of 50% in the price.
  11. I have an H7R. Exceptionally good headlight, though I have never used it for cycling. There is a H14R (I think that's what it's called) that is a headlight but comes with a handlebar mount as well, can only imagine how bright that must be.
  12. Was it covered in events though? My understanding is that if under all risk then the premium is lower but not covered during events.
  13. There was no danger to anyone so they could have taken time to scout what was really happening, and get their armoured ground vehicles there to investigate before opening fire. And then, knowing that an unarmed man is injured and getting assistance, they impatiently shoot at and kill good people (and shoot their children) who come to the aid of the injured. Trigger happy, definately. Cameras mistaken for machine guns and even an RPG? The Humvee drives right over the body of an innocent man and the guy in the helicopter cheers. WTF? There are just too many shitty assumptions made that leads to the loss of 12 - 15 breadwinners, parents, husbands, children - people who are innocent! Then there is the coverup from the military leaders who claimed that the journalists were killed during active combat in a firefight when they clearly knew the facts. Almost every innocent person killed can be labelled a combatant making stupid soldiers heros, perpetuating the cycle, allowing soldiers to act with impunity. We should criticize people, especially leaders, for their cover ups and lies. Better still, hold them accountable.

    Triathlon ......

I generally use Cytomax and Race Food on all my rides, occasionally a nutella sandwhich if its a long or hard one. I had tried Gu years ago, but I feel as if I hit a huge wall once the Gu 'wears out,' which I guess is why it needs to be taken every 45 minutes. Was thinking of mixing Cytomax and Future Life cereal for the bottles on the bike, and use the Race Food as well. Has anyone mixed their own cocktails - what were your results?
  15. Hi guys, I'm selling my Nikon D5100 twin lens bundle, less than 2 years old. Link to advert: https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=hubmarket&module=core&do=view_item&item_id=70025&new=1
  16. I advertised to sell my Nikon D5100. Got a call from a lady claiming to work for a large South African mining company but she was based in Nigeria, and was buying for her pastor's son, and could pay asking price plus postage, via paypal. I was totally obliging, and asked which department was she working in, as I work in the HR department. That was enough for her never to reply. Got another call an hour ago, the guy will pay via eft and then get his friend to collect the camera for his son, who is leaving the country tonight. Too many scamemrs out there.
  17. Would be interesting to see how many guys who complained last year and said that was their last 94.7 are complaining again this year! I reached there at about 11:15, and it was very busy inside, with long snaking queues. Went to find the front of the BB queue so that I wouldn't stand in the incorrect queue, only to find that it ended 5 people from the front. Was done in about 5 minutes. Must be the good karma of riding for a cause!
  18. Then they should have shot him just because as a gun handler (not to mention law enforcement officer) he should know better than to aim a firearm at another person, especially in anger.
  19. Wow. Absolutely speechless. That entire episode should have ended the first time he pointed his gun at anyone.
  20. Prices?

    ISM ADAMO SADDLE

There is a Bontrager saddle where the width of the split in the front of the saddle is adjustable. May be something to look at if you find the Adamo split not to your liking.
  22. I found it easiest to work only one aspect of the stroke at a time and continue doing it until I get that right (even if it takes days) before moving onto the next thing to correct. Using a pull buoy and one of those snorkels that rise in front of the face are helpful for stroke correction as they allow you to concentrate on the stroke itself and not everything else. Once the stroke is corrected, then worry about the rest.
  23. Never had any issue with them.
  24. I saw three ladies ignore the cops and ride dangerously between the cars crossing the intersection, and another two people being abusive to the cops, who in term got extremely pissed off and threatend to arrest one of them should they ignore his instruction to remain stopped. When one of the guys tried to pacify the cop he said he was getting abuse from triathletes the entire morning. To be fair I saw many more participants taking it in their stride and taking the opportunity to joke and chat to others. I got stopped three times at intersections but never for more than a minute. While it is a race and ideally shouldn't have any stops, motorists also have places to go to and probably time frames to stick to as well, so they are inconvenienced too. Given that we had two lanes to use for 19km of the cycle leg and no cars to dodge (unlike in many cycle races) I am okay with the occasional inconvenience of stopping.
  25. Sure, he is only risking his own life, but just think if he did bash into the truck and die, and a kid riding in a car with his parents saw that happening - what sort of trauma would that kid (or any other motorist) go through? It is idiots like him who give all cyclists, including those who are trying their level best to stay safe and not piss motorists off, a bad reputation.
