  1. Starting to pack. Leaving Cape Town for Sani2C tomorrow morning. Can't wait!
  2. I live in Hout Bay and have been riding here for 30 years but have never heard of this trail. Sounds interesting so I will check it out.
  3. Interesting. I was talking to a friend last night and he suggested I look at PYGA because I am in the market for a new bike. Great feedback!
  4. Yep, keen to hear what our seeding is this year.
  5. sent PM with contact details
  6. You can also try Andreas at the Bike Lane - 318 VICTORIA ROAD SALT RIVER CAPE TOWN. He has sold a couple of bikes for me and I have no problem in recommending him
  7. Dont' forget cable ties, CSA membership card, bike collection slip if you have your bike shipped there.
  8. I had knee pain recently and it was as a result of incorrect saddle position. I had Ergofit setup done. Knee pain has disappeared. BTW, I am 1.90m tall and use 1.75mm crank but I don't think this has anything to do with the knee pains as I have been riding with these cranks for years.
  9. I always used this product and swore by it but here's why is was taken off the shelves http://jacidawn.com/2009/09/21/if-only-merthiolate-really-healed/
  10. Haven't had any experience with the Li-on battery but I have changed the battery in my cadence sensor and HR transmitter. The cost was R13.00 for a new battery. DIY.
  11. The weather forecast for Sunday has changed about four times since Sunday! The forecasters don't have a clue
  12. Wow! This thread has deteriorated quickly I also have these nasty little suckers and am keen to find the best way to get rid of them.

    Argus 2014

Rode up Chappies this morning and was pleased to see that they have a digger working up there clearing the road. Rather late than never! So that section at the bottom of Chappies should be cleared/wider in time for the Agrud (I hope)
  14. Yes, an amazing coincidence. You are so fortunate. I hope someone has found mine and handed it in. My wife had to drive all the way from Hout Bay to bring me spare.
  15. I crashed at the turn into Westlake Avenue from Boyes drive and lost my car key (Merc). I went back afterwards to look for it but no luck. Any chance that someone else who crashed there as well, found it and handed it in? I have sent an email to PPA but no response.
  16. HI HDW Please check whether this is your key as I also lost a Mercedes key on the day (single key with nothing attached to it).

  18. I ride to Smitswinkel (and Cape Point in the reserve) from Hout Bay via Simonstown and back via Scarborough every weekend, and most of the time on my own. I have not had any issues and I normally leave very early in the morning (5:30) so the roads are quiet. I don't go up Red Hill from the Scarborough side because I have heard of incidents on that section but I often ride up and down the Simonstown side of Red Hill with no problems. It is important to be vigilant though. Two guys tried to mug me in Paarden Island 2 years ago on the cycle lane so I am ever watchful.
  19. Were you visible? did you have lights and were you wearing bright clothing? I see lots of cyclists out there who don't have lights (in the dark) and riding in dark outfits so they are often not visible until the last minute.
  20. Thanks for early morning laugh and great story. 2013 was my 1st S2C amd I am looking forward to this years one already.
  21. No more viagra! just fall onto my handlebars
  22. My dogs would disappear into the forest and I would never see them again
  23. and I think it's the root cause of my cramps!
  24. Always experienced great service from T&T. Popped in once during a long ride to fix a cleat and didn't even charge me.
  25. I am heavy at 97kgs and have replaced two RR snakeskins in the last 6 months on my back wheel. Both times the sidewalls were damaged beyond repair. I was running at 1.8 bar but have increased to 2 bar. Riding W2W this weekend so we will see how it goes.
