Yes, I have been on a bit of a Pangolin Mission lately..........anyway......... all the above talk of surrealism made me decide to post this picture.........the aim was to stir a little bit of surrealism into it!

Just brilliant.  Any chance of us paying you for a print? Edit:  And paying for a second one as a gift for a mate who shares weekly nighttime rhino anti-poaching voluntary patrols with me?  Him being a multi-award-winning photojournalist, I've no doubt that he'd very much have an appreciation for your work.

  2. WTactualF is up with the league and the FA?  Everton, Notts Forest and Sheffield Wednesday have all suffered significant penalties for overspending, yet Man City remain free to win a fourth successive title despite years of fraud.

Man City didn't just overspend.  With off-the-books payments to a head coach and to players and their agents, they committed many of the frauds with the direct purpose of improving team performance.

There is no way the lily-livered league and FA should be allowing Citeh to get away with all these long-term frauds, thereby clearing the way for them to win a fourth successive title.  Shameful.  Are the FA and league in the UAE's pockets?

it looked like the spurs goalie was impeded at times. Refs must sort that out I reckon.

Yebo, mostdef an issue.  I've heard several ex-player analysts say they didn't see anything done to Vicario warranting a foul as his movement wasn't stopped.  I still think it's an issue that needs addressing.  I've seen far worse than in yesterday's match.  Last year Ramsdale was bearhugged and couldn't move at all so I was astonished that the goal was allowed to stand.  And there have been a couple of as bad incidents with other PL goalies.  Definitely a problem that officials sometimes miss.

2 howlers let them back into the game but they were never really in it. Arsenal are a force.

And I eat humble pie, a lot of it. These hallowed pages will bear testimony to me saying Arteta should be fired. Good thing the directors at Arsenal did not follow my thinking.

Please share a congrats and a cheers with your old man as St Totteringham's has been a long time coming, with acknowledgement and respect to Spurs for that reason.

  5. I've had/tried a few of options previously mentioned, whether bone conduction or over-ear hook or in-ear versions.  For riding out my preference is for in-ear without noise cancelling and without paying too much.  No inhibiting of ambient sounds.  These have been a great choice for me:

Just R675 at Incredible Connection.  Made by Harman.  3 bud fitting sizes, and with the light around-the-neck wiring they don't dislodge and fall on gnarlier trails.  Mostly used for podcasts but good for music as well, 20Hz - 20kHz.  I've ridden with them several hours almost every day for about a year, including in driving rain, and they haven't skipped a proverbial beat wrt connectivity or run time.

It doesn't matter if it's just a training ride, there are times you can't resist chasing riders ahead .... sometimes you catch them sometimes you don't but either way it's a good feeling 😎

One of those days when one’s up for it.  On my way back around Marine Drive I gunned for and hunted down a young couple tucked on their TT bikes.  They were a bit slow, and I may or may not have been boosted by last night’s beans and butternut and cabbage curry pot...

Stayed well ahead of them for almost 15k’s and when they passed the guy greeted and said “We thought you might be motorised.” 🤠

This old git also gave it carrots.

Red bull have suspended the woman that complained about Horner.

still not named though. Seems double standards.

    Fiona Hewitson, Jos Verstappen’s girlfriend.

A bit awkward, one imagines, when one of the text threads is her inquiring how excited she had Horner and him replying that he had to finish himself off in the aircraft toilet.

Edit:  What a silly plonker Horner is.  Shades of Kepler Wessels regarding himself as the rooster, with his teammates’ wives being the occupants of the proverbial henhouse.

  8. I see that OG Solskjaer seemed to mirror our comments about Gen Z on another thread.  He said that he found that his Gen Z players were somewhat petty.  Also, if he asked them to be on-field captain for a particular match and they weren’t up for it, they wouldn’t tell him directly but would get a teammate to convey the message to him.

This morning I headed out for a light pedal. Coming around the traffic circle by Table Bay Mall I hear a vehicle behind me, but VERY close. Too close. I veer off the road and hop onto the cycle path and that is when I notice the POS taxi literal centimeters from my wheel.

It is for this reason of just blatant lawlessness on the roads that I ride a specific route each morning that pretty much ensures I ride on the west coast cycle path and back roads for about 98% of the ride.

There are about a half dozen cycle paths in my ‘hood and wide unbusy pavements to ride, and the valley trails are just a few blocks away.  Even so, that PoS taxi driver distracted himself by counting cash and ran me down on a dedicated cycle path in 2022.  The eedjut was still counting his cash as he got out.  A couple of passing drivers stopped to help.  I insisted he pay for my wheel damage and pocketed more than enough of his cash for a rim replacement.  😎

Bust ribs and liver bruising and leg cuts took a bit longer to “fix" than my bike, though.  Most all taxi drivers around here are sensible and considerate in traffic, until that Mensa no-hoper came along.    On a dedicated cycle path, nogal.  Bastardo!  Has less intelligence than a speed bump.

  10. Like my 10 year old self, I still love rain rides.  These conditions look like FUN, but only from my couch.

Edit:  Ahhh this section clear, simply stunning parkour.

we are chasing 155, bowled the Kiwis out and we are 67/2 after 12 overs

Thanks so much.  I have dozens of cricket channels and none of them were showing this.  Edit: Great win, klapped the Kiwis.

Or the problem was not really a problem to start with.

F1 is a high pressure environment. Folks in teams sometimes work 36 hours in a row. When teams have races on consecutive ( or 3 ) weekends it’s a very military like organisation. It has to be.

As I imagine most of us have done, I’ve also intensely worked long hours under pressure to get through a ton of work.  My longest spell was 62 hours without a moment’s break other than to make coffee.  My team members worked lesser hours but with the same intensity.  They HAD to get everything right at the right time.  Perhaps this RB complainant needed closer guidance and direction.

I’m convinced that later millenials and Gen Z’s are less willing and perhaps not geared for that.  A few more experienced actors have said similar things about their much younger colleagues.  With Gen Z’s it seems normal life trials are being pathologised.  As an example: Quite a few employers in Europe are finding that Gen Z’s are demanding sick leave for relationship breakups.  Nah, really.

SA has made the final in the inaugural over 40’s Masters Cricket World cup by beating England today at Green Point CC. England had a strong side with former England batsman Nick Compton and former county cricket stalwart Darren Stevens in their team. We will face an in-form Kiwi side on Friday, to be played at the WPCC oval. The Kiwis are unbeaten in the competition with former NZ international James Marshall scoring another ton today to beat the Aussies en route to the final. James is the twin brother of Hamish Marshall, who also played for NZ.

    Come on boys!

Are you playing or involved, mate?  Are you still playing?  I’d make an effort to catch Friday’s match but I can’t afford to travel to watch cricket any longer, as I once frequently did.

Sheesh, what a sight.  Still thrilling to see even though sea rescues and medevacs in storm seas was part of our job, including the Oceanos rescue.  If I think back on how risky it sometimes was I find it remarkable how very few rescuers are ever seriously harmed or killed.
