  1. I use the Leatt 3DF 5.0 on every ride. Even at 40km they dont bother me. One or two crashes later and they are 100% still.
  2. Don't get caught out with "low fat" or "fat free" foods. Compare the sugar and calories. Had a shock when we compared mayonnaise. Almost double the amount the amount compared to the regular stuff.
  3. I have. No reply yet. Tried calling today as well. I think they might not be open yet. Wanted to see what the options are if I can't get just the pawls and springs.
  4. Hi all. Do you perhaps know which spares from other manufacturers will fit these freehubs? I have the JB02HE hubs and I would like to replace the pawls and springs to test before I pay for a whole new freehub. These must be compatible with other freehubs? I don't see a service kit on the Lyne website.
  5. Balls. I already have to do that now. I just keep forgetting.
  6. Age is a big factor as well. In my 30s I could shed weight easily and hovered around 90kg while eating junk and exercising regularly. Now.... yeah, 40s is no joke. **** starts hurting when you tie your shoes.
  7. Good calories though. Refined sugar and processed carbs is good example of being empty calories that will contribute greatly to weight gain. Eat clean, unprocessed, fresh foods. I find that I can stuff myself with this diet and not exceed my daily calorie count. Also, empty calories will fill you up quickly but you will find yourself craving and eating more frequently.
  8. That happened to me. Burned hard on the trails and the trainer and lost 10kg. Felt great, looked great, gained 20w on FTP and everything was going well. Then work, life, and moving house happened followed by a month off the bike due to a stomach issue. Guess who gained all the weight back and now struggles to drop it again. Slower gains and slower losses convert into greater success of losing and maintaining weight.
  9. What worked for me last year was just getting as much saddle time in as possible while restricting calorie intake to below what my calculated requirement is. I managed to lose 10kg in about 4 months or so. Guess who gained the weight again when the above wasn't followed anymore. I've tried fasted rides and find that I get stomach cramps during the ride, bonk at 20km, and lose my sense of humor which results in over eating after the ride. This time round I'm finding it hard to burn the fat away. Not sure why but I think diet is still not optimal. Also only recently started another training program on Sufferfest. Worked well the last time. Weighing in at 115kg at the moment. Will measure again only after the 6 week program is done. What I've found unfortunately is that there are no fast ways.
  10. This post reads like a bike accident? You ok?
  11. Always cracked frames around welds. Will be interesting to see where the carbon bike cracks. If ever. I hope never!
  12. Would love to help but some of us are back at work unfortunately.
  13. In a last effort the wheel went to the lbs to check. They cleaned the freehub and adjusted the pawl and springs. The consensus is that the pawls aren’t engaging properly. Made a difference but not enough to completely take it away. I noticed over the past few rides that the wonderful ziiiiing from the Lyne High Engagement hub getting more and more faint. Starting to make sense. Emailed Dayle to see if I can order only the pawls and springs or if a whole freehub body will be needed. 3000km… expected better.
  14. QR or thru axle?
  15. Service at my place 😍
  16. Had the bearings checked and replaced end of December. All good on that front Went through each spoke in the last week and cleaned between where they cross and checked tension. Spokes won’t resonate into the pedal axle though.
  17. Not impossible but it would be more frequent and only under load. I get the noise even under light loads. Not sure it would make such a loud noise. What would it get caught on? Rubbing noise would be more likely.
  18. Wheel is back at the shop. I can’t bother with this anymore. Let someone else figure it out. Shop suspects the freehub is the problem. They will reset the spring tension and relube it. My question… why would a freehub only last 6000km or is that the norm? Lyne components high engagement unit. I really miss my Hope hubs.
  19. Not an expert but i’ve cracked a few frames in my life. Best to get the bike shop to confirm but that looks cracked to me.
  20. Please. Im 10kg heavier than last year this time and some group motivation will go a long way. Goal for this year is 25kg. Very easy 2kg a month if I look at it on paper. In theory… yeah
  21. That park is a hole at best. This level of service is standard there so no surprises.
  22. Always good service from them.
  23. Some say I’m boring to ride Red Barn almost exclusively but it is 10 minutes from home and we have annual passes.
  24. I’m living my best shifting life with the XTR mech and SRAM everything else at the moment. 😂 Definitely sticking to the combo.
