your setup is placing too much weight on your hands, hence the pins n needles as the nerve is affected. Gloves vary, some thick some thin, some padded some not, but wont take away pins n needles. Currently using Fox Unabomber gloves, very nice indeed.

it all depends on difficulty of terrain (climbs), heat and time of year. a fast flowing race, no one will bother stopping at 15km so then 20km makes sense... all in all it seems it wasnt properly thought through. Smaller events can = heartache

I too am happy with their service. Bought a track bike, mtb shoes, and a road wheelset on mailorder. all good. Just make sure that you order items that are in stock, because their suppliers can and do let them down when it comes to meeting delivery deadlines. Nice shop near Waterloo station too.

CSA shambles/mistakes regarding this issue is shameful. Why do I keep paying my CSA fees each year?

yes, its quite safe. I ride there often alone midweek. You must be wary of oncoming traffic though, driving the wrong direction, some blind corners with the tall grass could leave you as a hood ornament on a staffbakkie. bad accidents there in the past. I have also accidentally ridden over a puff adder (shat myself) so try keep your concentration.

+1. Why would a saddle bag not be cool? having any extra weight carried by the bike frame rather than my back/body makes much more sense to me, especially on long rides.

If its not included at registration, they will be dealing with many, MANY angry cyclists, so I very much doubt they will not stick to their original plans. This was afterall one of the 'special' enticements to get race entries was it not?
