  1. A bladdy car comes in at least a ton, lots of stuff that makes up that weight … radio, sat nav, aircon, electric windows, alarm immobilizer, engine that drives the wheels, a boot, spare wheel, etc, etc…. Bicycles lose everything to reduce weight and you pay more for having less Cyclists must be dumb suckers…in addition to being wheel suckers 😂
  2. Famous proverb: One mans trash is another mans treasure 😆
  3. Compared to their competitors Garmin are huge and so deep into GPS devices and technology (Aviation, marine, automobiles, plus plus...) that its hard to imagine anyone else will ever be able to compete against them from a technological point of view. Back to the this threads first post....after sales service, customer support and reliability is a level playing field for all the different manufacturers, after +/- 35 years of using numerous polar watches and bike computers, the amount of times I've needed to send one in for a battery replacement or other problems is < 5.... Kind of like Toyota... Everything keeps going right TOYOTA 😁
  4. Capabilities of “wristwatches” is amazing nowadays compared to the 19voetseks when a timex Ironman with multiple stopwatch and timers was considered hi tech. It seems the only thing holding them back now is the battery and the hoomans ability to exercise until the battery dies. I wonder if the majority of people even need a quarter of the continuous battery life, never mind all the functions ( breadcrumbs 😂) available? For myself I have a polar grit (because it looks nice 🤡) and only use basic sport tracking (HR, time, distance, altimeter and definitely for anything close to 40hrs) and then the recovery and sleep tracker functions.
  5. I’ll gladly trade in my Kalahari brown EVO for that red coloured one, wtf made Spez paint bikes that colour is one of their biggest secrets
  6. I know you should not let them go completely flat as this allows some kind of loss of the chemical properties, maybe it’s the same risk if they are overcharged… for example if the charging does not automatically switch off
  7. Nice thread revival of one of the cooler bike hub topics…. Pity it’s buried away like it is
  8. What happens when a shower is enough time to charge to 100% Sorry but I’m a bit confuzed, Did u mean to say that the watch should only be top charged and not fully charged?
  9. How long before this thread is locked?
  10. This is why I love my Polar watch, never ever had to send one of them in for a battery change.
  11. If he doesn’t get beaten and doesn’t stop beating some of the best riders in the world by minutes it’s going to become unbelievable……wait, it might be to late?
  12. Very nice, are the pant’s comfortable to cycle (mtb) in and being a bit like baggies do they catch on the seat?
  13. My newest shirt, ride for rhinos by anatomic Quite a bit more colorful than my usual riding tops
  14. I'll just quote the unbelievability of your cheeky post for the records... 😁👍
  15. I once had a training program from https://www.53x12.com/about (Dr Ferrari and his brother) and one legged drills were a feature. At the time my understanding was that the idea is to improve pedaling technique, not to mention that they will work muscles that you never knew you had….
  16. That same insta post was in the online Swiss press yesterday https://amp.20min.ch/story/mountainbike-star-nino-schurter-hat-sich-von-seiner-frau-nina-getrennt-833109165695
  17. I must be Special(ized)…having 6 bikes in my bike room which came with a lifetime warranty on their frames. Obviously this is subject to the manufacturer’s conditions, hence my original comment. Stand easy
  18. ……..until you have a frame warranty claim denied
  19. Like the epic’s single tracks, you need to ride faster to have access to clean toilets
  20. Can you expand on the bold part perhaps
  21. It just takes 1 or 2 riders to loose their momentum and to stop, if it’s single track no one can get past and then it’s a massive snowball effect. 10 + years ago my mate and I got penalized after the prologue because the timing system showed we finished more than 2 minutes apart on all the timing mats (after 2 stages we found out the race organizers gave me someone else’s timing chip on my number board) so we started in the last group for the next stage and the next stage. It was frustrating as hell to see how easy some people stop and get off causing chaos behind them.
  22. In a team event like the epic, the team is only as good as the slowest rider. Nino needs to look beyond switz for a partner, and beyond Scott bicycles Sometimes the Swiss shoot themselves in the foot with their national pride true story, live from planet Zug
  23. Mathias Flückiger….. 🤣 except he rides for Thömus and then there is some “history” like that little crash with Nino at lenzerheide
  24. Nino maybe needs to look beyond Switzerland, thinking MvdP…. The roles would be reversed with Nino trying to hang onto MvdP Barring technicals they could drill any other team With MvdP road career it would never happen
  25. Justice was served, trying to bring roadie tactics into mtbking
