  1. No can’t say I noticed anything like this, I typically sweat a lot and would say my feet are no worse than a normal ride. When I do this it’s for rides longer than what I like to do on the IDT, which produces more sweat than anything outdoors in winter 😂
  2. This is one reason why someone invented the IDT. Ive successfully used waterproof over shoes on the few occasions I rode outdoors long enough in winter.
  3. The pics I’ve seen of Vroomie lately he looks a bit overweight….. Keep in mind he has been out of racing in the peloton for a long time and most likely his role in IPT at the moment is not to be at the pointy end but rather to support the other riders. There are 7 riders in a Dauphine team and not all 7 riders finish in the same time zone as the winner. Yesterday he finished basically mid pack 85 with 148 finishers. Granted pretty mediocre by his standards….. situations like CF and IPT just adds to the thrill of the race…..imo 🤙
  4. Sidebar, not condoning harassment or grooming….or whatever happened here. My wife and I have a very old and slight connection with the real deal Nick Bester of comrades fame, so I mentioned this case against his son to her last at dinner…. Her immediate response was “ nowdays it is so easy to be accused of these kind of things, you have to be really careful what you say and don’t touch anyone….” Say it again, I’m not condoning or taking SNB actions / side
  5. Yes Nick is his old toppie If all of this is true I can only imagine that old man Nick gave him a Katseklap or 10

  8. Pardon the editing of the OP’s original post
  9. The elite ladies was live on Eurosport today ( big yay for Candice Lill’s 6th place ) and the short course both men’s and ladies was covered live yesterday. For some stoopid reason……. Sadly the men’s race was not on at all, maybe later in the week they will have a replay
  10. Unstoppable ……………………………… Unbelievable Which side of the fence does he ride?
  11. Me and my saddlebag doing a reverse lap around planet Zug's lake Zug Looking south in the direction of the Alps
  12. Some interesting riders taking part in the tour of Hungry Peter Sagan for Pierre Baguette Cycling and Mark Cavendish for Astana, also Saffa Byron MUNTON for Epronex-Hungry Cycling Stage 1 saw Sagan puncture with 5 km to go and Cavendish sitting up in the final 100m after starting his sprint a bit to early. Sagan made it back and ended up 13th https://www.cyclingnews.com/races/tour-de-hongrie-2024/stage-1/results/#section-results
  13. Interesting word “nonchalantly” With a bit of bike hub poetic license you get “NonchaLAnce” I don’t ever remember seeing he who should not be mentioned here (LAnce) being so nonchalant about riding away from everyone.
  14. I’m not a fan of the Pog and don’t look forward to him dominating the grand tours this year, so in some way I hope you are right. Instead of fatigue I suspect was riding smart as it’s only the first day of the first GT (of a potential 3 GT’s) plus as a GT general classification dominator….. he’s not supposed to win sprints. Well done to Jhonatan Narváez
  15. Not as impressive as some people I’ve seen riding in Rouvy 😂
  16. A balmy day in April with new wheels
  17. Cyril's version of Stumblin in
  18. Yes it’s live, both men’s and ladies short course today and xco tomorrow. Big decision tomorrow, motocross GP is live on Eurosport 2 at the same time 🫤 🤙
  19. New set of wheels Roval Aplinist CLX2 Very nice and smooth, especially with those 28C tyres
  20. Recovering from a wrist fracture and cappuccino training in spaghetti land
  21. Here’s another video link, looks like so riders where quite lucky….especially the guy who jumped over the ditch narrowly missing the tree afterwards https://www.20min.ch/story/jonas-vingegaard-bei-ueblem-massensturz-auf-trage-abtransportiert-103078802#ratingSection
  22. Done many years and hours on the IDT, due to work hours and Swiss winters. Riding in the dark, freezing cold and wet weather is not fun, did a Rapha 500 challenge once in December in all sorts of *** weather, NOT AGAIN THANKS! in the past I did some + 6 hour rides on the IDT, the key to these is as below and to move around on the bike frequently alternating sitting and standing, your soft tissue area will thank you 🤩 For long rides the key is to watch something like Netflix, before Netflix and YouTube I had a portable dvd player in my training room. Rouvy has great scenery and so many different route options, but for long rides some other visual entertainment is recommended. Have fun
  23. It’s the washing machine I sweat like a pig 🐽 and wash my helmet under the shower with hair shampoo. The liner stays in the helmet and still looks and smells like new. Helmet is at least 5 years old. Taking the liner out of the helmet every time is probably contributing to the damage. My gloves go into the washing machine very occasionally, they never smell (well as far as I can smell….) but only for a cold wash with the lowest spin speed. I also alternate gloves having multiple pairs allows them time to dry properly indoors and not in direct sunlight.
  24. A man walks into our office on Friday (no this is not one of those jokes) and with a heavy Irish accent asks if anyone speaks English, being the only person in the office whose mother tongue is English I jump up first and say to him, yes I do but do you….. immediately he bursts out laughing and says “you sound South African” Turns out he is a road worker busy painting yellow lines on a road nearby and has about 5 liters of already mixed yellow paint left over and wanted to know if we need any of this special yellow paint…. We called the airport manager who was very happy to accept the free gift of paint. Anyway he then goes on to describe his last holiday he had in SA and amongst everything that was fantastic he mentioned how friendly South Africans “always smiling and easy to talk to they are” and how big the steaks are that you can get for 5€ and the fantastic beach and hotels at a place called Omhlangi (Umhlanga). My Swiss work colleague asks me after the Irish guy left, “Why did you leave SA then….” 🤣
