  1. I tried but cant get any. a new one will cost more than what i bought the wheels for.
  2. Thanks, I removed it and wiped it clean, will try clean it with a degreaser and see if it helps.
  3. Let it go or one more try??? Soooo, I took a gamble and bought a Mavic crossmax wheelset for cheap. Replaced bearings, was easy, serviced freehub. mounted tyres and took rear wheel for a spin. NEW chain, cassette and chainring. Wheel spin baie mooi....freehub is slipping(ID360). investigate....freehub ratchet is worn. open again clean and try again, still slipping. So replace the ratchet(R760 from Merlin cycles) and try again or replace hub with new. Any thoughts?

  7. The only place you will find that kind of bikes is on FB Marketplace, My brother sold his old but almost never ridden 26er there within minutes +-R1500. eft was done and bike was picked up the afternoon. Don't see many of those here.
  8. I don't think you need to upgrade the bikes but what could make a difference in your cycling is clip in shoes and clip-less pedals. That will help alot with pedal efficiency. A GPS cycle computer wont make you faster but is lekker to see your riding info and upload to Strava to see your progress and can add Heart Rate monitor to that as well to see how you suffer and get fitter. Remember it doesn't get any easier you just go faster... Enjoy your ride
  9. Think you must be looking at something like this? I have a warm jacket but still rides with a Mr Price base layer, but that is for weekday 5 in the morning rides when it is not getting hotter. https://share.temu.com/3pmZ7HWC5dA
  10. Still using my Ryder as a backup light after many years. Using the Fluir 1000. The mount tabs has broken so the light mounts on with a elastic, did replace the battery with a Takealot battery and with the new battery it lasts long again. If I forget to charge the Fluir after 2 or 3 rides then I use the Ryder.
  11. I bought this and covered my bike downtube, seat stays etc with it. Cost is cheap to wrapping products. Looks okay but if you look carefully you can see it was DIY. But it works and is on for a year now, https://www.maizey.co.za/product/grafityp-stonechip-protection-film/
  12. They make it now with a Go-pro hang mount https://www.rookiesports.co.za/product/fluir-1000lm-elite-gp-front-bicycle-light-go-pro-hang-mount-retail-card/
  13. This is not bike related but insurance related, had an issue with Hollard. Claiming a laptop that was specified which got damaged. Took 4 weeks. Had to give a affidavit that the laptop was mine but was bought second hand(laptop was still in my possesion). Value of laptop was correctly insured but still they wanted to pay out a third of the insured price. Had to fight to get my settlement at the end.

  20. Just a question I have a OLD Focus 29" HT MTB. Need to replace rear hub as it is very rough, 135mm QR hubs. I can source both front and rear hubs via Ali-express but not sure if I am wasting my money by saving a penny. Cannot seem to find local hubs at a good price. What other options do I have?
  21. I wanted to buy tools and low and behold it was not available but I have something else you might want to consider. Some people just don't remove or update their adds. Timewasters
