  1. These are tough economic times. The organisers need to feed their families first....hence, Charity begins at home..... Just climb on your bike and enjoy the ride
  2. Go to an electrical wholesaler or maybe Builders and get yourself a Crescent Sidecutter....The best cutter on the market and you won't be sorry.
  3. This is just so sad. People have to work their butts off to get somewhere and then some dumb f*cking tjop just takes it all away because he is too lazy to work for anything in life. I hope Rob gets a bike soon. Did he have insurance?
  4. If you not intending to ride further than your local cafe with tekkies on then rather go for the pm 520/540's as they about the same price as the multi purpose ones above. (I THINK the pm520's might be cheaper...I might be wrong)
  5. Yes' date=' they are identical to the ones in the life vests on the aircraft. I don't see why the SAA can have them onboard and not the passengers.....A typical case of f*cking joe public around.....Do as we say and not as we do[/quote'] Well naturally, otherwise there wouldn't be room for many passengers with people taking weed and coke on the planes I gorgot that they have to compensate for the weight of the illegal 2kg parcel on board. If the captain smokes that sh!t in midflight it gives a whole new meaning to flying high
  6. Why worry about things beforehand? Tackle each task as it presents itself
  7. The last time I asked that my wife donnered me

  10. you can wear any shoes you like. You can always get pedals like these below (shimano 324). They are flat on the one side and have the clip in part on the other. Great to learn how to use clipless pedals. http://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/images/shimano-pd-m324.jpg Solomons Pta has a set of these for about R400. Wanted to get a set for the missus' spinning bike, but bought SPD's instead.
  11. I think the problem with the brackets is that the ?curve? under the bracket has a bigger diameter than a standard stem. So when tightening the cable ties, the bracket is forced to take the shape of the stem, and thereby putting it under undue stress, whereby the little ?lugs? under the bracket will eventually break off over time. Wouldn?t fitting a piece of rubber under the bracket help with cushioning and a better fit over the stem? I think due to different stem diameters on the market, this is not a problem that can have a general solution to the problem.
  12. Eers as jy opgradeer van'n driewiel na 'n tweewiel kan jy 'n lisenesie kry
  13. I see 4 little red x's. Which one marks the spot?
  14. I can take it up on my trailer' date=' but can't gaurantee it will get back to your house[/quote'] Mate, will drop and pick up! Just remember, it's not hte 'dale!!! That's fine. Contact me closer to the time so that we can make arrangements.

  16. I have a Venter 6ft with a homemade rack that holds 5 bikes (made by myself)....galvanised and all. Had no hassles up to now
  17. Ok, wait for it...I'm about to ask the inevitable question...... Where can a person buy these halflinks? Speed Devil2009-02-18 01:54:29
  18. What frame have you got?
  19. Slightly confused I am. Can they rebuild using same hub and spokes on new rim' date=' or same hub, spokes and rim? [/quote'] Chuck the rim and use the hub and spokes on a new rim.
  20. One option is to take the frame to an engineering place and let them weld the hole closed and then redrill and tap the hole...unfortunatley you will have to have the paintwork fixed up again. Another possible option to have a hellicoil fitted, but I wouldn't recommend it as it probably wouldn't work as the frame is too narrow and not enough "meat" for a permamnent fix. Otherwise get a new frame. Us cyclists never need a better excuse than that to replace a frame.
  21. Thanks guys.
  22. If the race is big enough then the tandems are split into two groups...ie "racing" tandems and "social" tandems. Aren't racing tandem bunch usually the guys with the full licence and the social tandems the guys with the cyclosport/recreational licence?
