  1. Thx Crow. Quickly browsed on the ZTR site, and that is what I could conjur in a short while
  2. Oh yes, wanted toi mention; I ride a set of ZTR Flow's (29") on Hope Pro II evo hubs with DT Swiss spokes, and they are STRONG and stiff. Well worth the effort
  3. +1 for the ZTR Flow +-130g heavier than Crest (on 26" 32 hole). So total 260g heavier with the same build as on a set of Flow's. Flows are MUCH stronger, and as you mention trail riding, well... So, the weight issue... 1. Before you go rige, take a pee, and shed yourself of 350ml (350g of weight). 2. Fill one of your bottles (or Camelback) with JUST as much as you need, and save anything from 325ml (352b per half a bottle), to 1.5l (1.5kg per half Camelback), And there you have anything from a 350g to a 1.5kg of weight saving. WELL worth the additional 260g you will carry on MUCH safer, stronger and longer lasting Flow's. I hope this helps
  4. Oh yes, almost forgot of the INCREASED grip with increased tyre width...
  5. IMO, Broader, yes more volume, but not always. EG Conti Race Kings 2.2 vs Schwalbe Racing Ralps 2.25. Fitted on the same rim, the top (width) profile close to the same, BUT the longitudinal profile is the "suspension" issue (from your rim up to where the tread runs). I found that the Schwalbe RR runs more "skittish" that the Conti Race kings due to a lower volume profile from the rim to the running surface, and feels to be riding "harder" than other higher longitudinal volume tyres (conti and Geax). Still run the RR, prefer them die to sidewall durability and weight. My advice, try the tyres if you can. Happy Hoopin
  6. SCAM!!! Ask for their PayPal details, and report THEM to PayPal. These dude's take PayPal fraud seriously!!! They will try and find them and stop the rubbish.

  8. See this topic that went on last week and over the weekend. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/111474-tire-choice-29-er/page__view__findpost__p__1559420__fromsearch__1 Enjoy
  9. I've been in a bus on Swiss passes... The bus WAITS behind the cyclist (a commuter) until it is safe to pass, and no one is worse for ware. Best of it all, the busses are ALWAYS on time, even considering everyone else on the road!!!! Our biggest problem (or two), is 1. Cyclists are seen to have no right to the road, where we actually have FULL right as a road user. 2. The laws of the road ( IE accommodating cyclist and other road users) are NOT being enforced by our authorities that we "pay". It is much easier to sit somewhere and catch you in the car doing 110km in a 100km/h zone. Yep, I am yet to see that that kills someone obeying ALL the rules of the road!!!
  10. Dude Motorists hate OTHER motorists!!!
  11. you won't be disappointed. Happy Hoopin
  12. Looking for Conti X Kings!!! Would like to get a pair of them on my Hoops. Just nowhere available for retail
  13. Agreed on ALL of the above Strong Grips Light Oh yes, did I mention that it seals well on the rim (UST!?!?!? )
  14. The Geax will fit 100% on the CrossMax wheels. Just a reminder... The Geax has a nice full volume and makes for a plush ride (like added suspension) The RR's rolls WELL, but with lower volume might feel "hard". Happy shopping. PS, if you decide on the Schwalbe's, thing of a Nobby Nic F / Racing Ralph R combo. Should work a charm
  15. Sorry about the picture quality, I will post higher resolution pics soon. Cheers
  16. Hey SS hubbers. Here are some long awaited pics of my SS bike... Feels like Mc Donalds... I'm Loving it!!!
  17. Hey Dude I have ridden both sets in question. VERY VERY important... What rims are you riding??? If it is ANY variant of STAN's, be careful of the Geax tyres. They do not fit on the Stan's rims (yes they do, but with damage to the rim fitting and cutting the tyre off to remove it). The Geax tyres are great and last well. They have a large volume, so it helps if you have a hard-tail bike, itfeels like added suspension. Geax tends to be on the "heavy" side for tyres. Currently I am running the Racing Ralph's, and loving them. No puncture issues, and rolls extremely well. I love the RR, and will probably replace them again with a set of RR. However, my mind is tending toward the Continental X King 29er tyres, if I could only get my hands on a pair available in retail (some bikes come with them OEM fitted). I hope this helps. Happy Hooping
