  1. I think you did well with that buy - esp tubeless; happy pedalling.
  2. From the rats in the basement, to the sharks in the penthouse - it's not that far. (Kirsty McColl)

Yes, the wind does tend to get up more there as the morning progresses, so its easier, earlier. Having said that, they prolly still would have beaten you B)
  4. +/-160 dnfs, around 20% of the field. Maybe not a record but very high.
  5. Why was he angry?
  6. Super-hot, nice event, didn't realise we'd done the 'big hill' til after. There's was some technical bits along the river and less corrugation than I was xpectin. Great the no. Of water points, but from F start (1st sas evennt), I struggled from 30-80kms w the heat. Feeling the sunburn setting in now. But had to get in the river at 75kms.
  7. Surely not! Are you on for 94.7 Scotty - what group have you got?
  8. Sheesh XX start, 10:21; because I havent done any of their seeding events & R150 to re-seed using other results. Hmmm am sure I did R4S in a reasonable time, but maybe it would be fun to slum it in the sun with the sweating masses.
  9. By myself some reds are fine to go through; most are not. In a group, i wont stay with a bunch jumping lights because their no.s allow it.
  10. You dont need to be fit to hurt yourself on a mtb. If you can't engage your brain at whatever fitness level, then leave the bike in the garage.
  11. No such thing as a polite hoot in this town; any use of the horn is like ringing the bell in a boxing match. Van Buuren, lovely road, lovely suburb, & the cyclists are nowhere near as bad as the joggers and power walkers.
  12. To those saying he shudnt have ridden there, it's a bit unfair. Its not like there's trouble every day or every week. It's a main road route and a well-established cycle route. We shouldn't have to change our lives for all of the notices we get of crime. I think using that route is an acceptable risk - like the wildebeeste migration crossing the river with crocs in it. There'll be a couple of casualties out of the thousands but it has to be done.
  13. It's not an effective law for road riding ie not enforcable; and wouldn't apply to anything off-road by definition.
  14. Rode in Marloth Park by Kruger this weekend. No need for helmets, was great.
  15. You are right, all my worst enemies are humans
  16. Outlandish idea, it will never catch on. Great work in identifying the vehicle; what a strange photo for some random person to take and then it turns out to be useful. I wonder what the connection is.
  17. Saw the front of elites crash (3 or 4 of them) 250mtrs from the line; that sucks after 150kms. Road narrowed for the speed bump with bollards either side. Everyone got up, so hopefully not the worst.
  18. +1 .......or 2
  19. Thanks nsBB, but mostly it fell on stony ground.
  20. I think ASG's response and the answers in blue, make ASG look the better party in this; & the OP bitter and twisted. Got no stake in any of this, just saying....
  21. I'm sure there will be a queue...... ......on both parts of your message.
  22. Marketing guff regurgitated by hubbers is pretty annoying. My fave would be in respect of wheels where they "climb well". Good grief.
  23. USD5m is just the start point. Calling out the cheats and those who profited from it are worthwhile efforts.
  24. Its an occupational hazzard, and you should pick your battles carefully. Plenty, plenty, plenty tales of Hubbers' woes, successes, failures and injuries on this issue. We lose more than we win and you're not alone.
  25. A bump for Bobbie's effort - she's a real trooper in getting involved and making a difference. Also, if you look on Championchip's website, she's the happy cyclist at the top of the page.
