  1. My wife asked me why I don't shave my legs (I'm an enthusiastic mid-field MTB marathon finisher). I told her there was no reason for me to do so because I don't get leg massages or anything like that. She went on to comment that it might look nice though. That was a month ago. Well my wife is still on holiday with the kids and I decided to clipper away at my leg hair and send her a photo. I am glad to say that I got the following reply: NICE xxx So now if anyone asks why I might shave my legs, my answer will be an emphatic: 'cos the wife likes it.
  2. I did Majik Forest quickly today. Well impressed. 15km and 400m ascent.
  3. Thanks for the advice guys.
  4. I'm In the cape for a day and would like to do an awesome trail close to where I'm staying if possible. Can anyone give me a tip where to ride or anyone wanna guide me on a 2-3 hour ride?
  5. Looking sweet bro
  6. I love that!
  7. Must be user error......
  8. Here's Fanuel collecting his new bike last week. Much of excitement!
  9. Thanks Copperhead. Capetown is a bit difficult for me.
  10. There's your problem.
  11. The chopping and shaping of the spider took about 2 hours. Sanding everything smooth to a brushed finish with increasing grits of waterpaper took about 2 hours. The polishing itself with a drill attachment and green compound took about 20min per arm. The smoother you sand the arms, the faster the polishing goes. Well worth the effect I think.
  12. Are shops making too much money these days? WTF is with this bad service? call Tool-Up Cycles on 012 661 1661 and let them hook you up with an awesome Rocky Mountain.
  13. Yes you may have a ghey rotor. Is it made by Avid?
  14. I got my cranks to a brushed finish using 800 grit water paper. Then I used the green compound in the polishing kit on the medium sized polishing buff chucked in my electric drill. It took all of 15min per arm to polish the cranks. I didn't polish the back of the cranks or do a really good job around the spider because I didn't remove the cranks from the bike this time around. Who looks at the back of the cranks anyways???
  15. I'll accept any cranks for polishing as long as they're already sanded smooth and accompanied by a case of Gilroys Traditional. Thanks for the compliments guys.
  16. Finally polished mine
  17. Hijack on: finally got around to polishing my cranks using the same attachment as above. Blingin'
  18. These days, you need to know what something costs before you go into a shop. The price on the tag means nothing unless it's cheaper than what you had in mind. If you over paid, it's because: You didn't research the price before hand You sent someone else to buy it You have too much money and should give me some. The shop can no longer be blamed for "overcharging". The internet will provide you with the going rate. Don't be lazy - do some research on the online shops before going instore. Some shops price fairly (Tool-Up and similar), some take the chance that you don't know better (Solomons and Cajees and similar).
  19. I did my 3 loops then at the end of the third caught up to my mate and did his 3rd loop with him. Any excuse to ride some more......
  20. I did the mampoer long-way 4 times! Lekker section of track!
  21. Sorry guys, all my HTFU ones are sold and I'll only bring more in if I have about 25 pre-orders. Once I order them it's about 6 weeks for delivery. If anyone wants one as per my Avatar, let's make a list here. Price is R125 each - includes nation-wide postage. Colours available: Red, black, blue, silver, green, purple, orange, gold, pink
  22. I'm glad my on-one had some squish up front.....
  23. Another bike, this time a Gary Fisher MTB to a worthy recipient. Moffat used to walk for over 2 hours per day to work and back, or pay R30 per day for taxi fare. This bike has improved his quality of life!
  24. I'd get the Silverback - only cos I prefer Schwalbe and Shimano. Seriously though, they're almost identical. Get the one you like the look of most.
  25. In it's natural habitat:
