  1. There ya go! Looks awesome. post pics of the polishing attachment and polish you used please.
  2. Deore is cheaper, a bit heavier and will probably last a fair bit longer. Shifts just as well as SLX. It comes down to 3 things: weight, cost, longevity. Can't have all 3.....
  3. How much are you're after for her?
  4. Play nice! Jealousy makes you nasty.
  5. What a *** design....
  6. WeatherSA app (which is always wrong) on my iPhone says 15-31deg, 27km/h wind and 31% chance of light rain.
  7. Once the chain stretches a bit you'll need some kind of tensioner
  8. Plenty. My mate is on his 3rd chainstay - awaiting warranty replacement again.
  9. No hangers unfortunately. I just asked cos I saw the hanger wasn't on the frame. and you'll need one. Here's the frame I did about 2 years ago: I think this was an almost-done photo.
  10. When i did a similar frame, I used water paper in increasing grits up to 1200 to get rid of all the scratches and get an almost-glossy finish. Then I used burnishing compound to smooth it further and finished it up with Silvo. Apparently Autosol works very well as a polish. You can also try a drill-mounted polishing mop and aluminium polishing compound.
  11. Do you have a derailleur hanger for that frame?
  12. Polish and wax. No need to clearcoat. Clear can be problematic over time with sweat and other moisture getting through pores in the paint causing surface corrosion that looks weird. polish and wax with normal car wax. If you get scuffs or scratches, it's easy to polish out again.
  13. Nice work. You going to leave it raw or polish it?
  14. NN are great tyres. Running them f&r on my 29er SS at 18psi (f) and 20 psi ®
  15. Where you starting?
  16. I'll be happy to keep up with my mates! The idea of taller gears always scares me.....
  17. Nah, I agreed to MTB. I'm thinking 32x14
  18. I'm riding at 8.22 with a charity group. Bunch of mates all on MTB's. I might struggle to keep up with the gearies....contemplating my gearing strategy.......
  19. Lekker man, Lekker.
  20. Who else is doing the 94.7 on a MTB SS?
  21. Yup started in the middle of A2 and had a cracker. I got to the bottleneck ahead of the masses so wasn't delayed more than a minute or 2. I beat last year's time by 15min. As stated here previously: Organisers, remove any rocky techy stuff and keep it flowing, there was only 1 or 2 places that killed it for everyone. If you want to "race", be in A1 or A2. As an aside, this route is the most single-speed friendly out of this year's races I have done, with loads of nice gradual uphill drags where we can eat up the gearies.
  22. You can get Fleegles from on-ones website....
