  1. Wow, has it been that long since I checked this thread? I guess that's what happens when you have a newborn! I'll be in touch!
  2. Your pads are contaminated. Do the long downhill get-brakes-really-hot procedure. Same happened to me before, got oil on pads. I cleaned them with sunlight liquid (the only degreaser I had) and went riding. Got the brakes hot on a long long descent and they came back to life. Still using those pads today, a year on.
  3. Go 1x10.
  4. That's freekin awesome!
  5. Wow, to the OP, that's the best russian-sounding english I have ever struggled to read!
  6. Are the chainrings removable? I'd say get some black cranks with a black chainring and gold chainring bolts. Hurry up and do the conversion, you'll love it.
  7. Anyone else?
  8. My SS is the furthest thing from an Alfa. It doesn't break down, parts are not "unavailable" and the build quality is awesome!
  9. Installed on the crank and looking good. Now just waiting for the Zee to arrive from CRC.
  10. Let's have a thread where we share super-duper online deals so that everyone can benefit. I'll start. I just got a Reba RLT 29er Solo Air for $386. http://www.planet-x-...100mm_29er_fork http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/imgs/products/900x650_constWH/FORSREBRLTSA_P1.jpg
  11. Yeah they build wheels.
  12. They are also MY lbs. awesome guys, awesome coffee and very fairly priced as well. Just got a new frame from them.
  13. I might have to gate crash on my SSuspended SS...
  14. My normal SS rings last ages. I have ridden one for over 3000km and it's still almost like new. I guess with a bit of cross-chaining on a 1x setup the wear will be a bit more, but I reckon you could do 2500-4000km easy on one ring.
  15. SSpring on the SSpruit.
  16. Got my 102BCD ring at CRC. Blackspire Monoveloce.
  17. Thanks a million to Glenn who donated 3 MTB frames. I am now in need of some MTB wheels for disc brakes and v-brakes if anyone can assist. Thanks again to all of the amazing support that members of this forum have given my initiative.
  18. By the time I made it to my back I was good. Lucky for me my landing pad was a nice flat rock, as opposed to the plethora of sharp ones! I landed square on my chest; and the scars on my heart rate strap device will attest to that!
  19. ....says the oke with a rigid fork.....
  20. I even fell before you did Oom J.
  21. You could have won sexiest bike! That thing's a beaut.
  22. I posted the same time as last year, given that this year it was 3.5km longer (to the organisers: how do you ALWAYS manage to publish the distance wrong??????????????????) I rode a harder gear (32x18 vs 32x19) than last year. I had a not so pleasant over-the-bars experience on the satellite descent, which is normally my strong suit (probably got cocky). I was lucky to escape with a few grazes and a sore hand. I thank the flat rock I landed on, as opposed to the thousands of sharp rocks all around. Well done to Eric and the Advendurance team for a great route and event organisation. All other Trailseeker races should be modeled on this one. Jou Bliksem brought rule #5 into play again. Let's face it, that section will always be nasty and never be nice or fun or fast or flowing or cool. All in all, another tough but rewarding edition of this race. Well done to all those that finished and condolences to those that didn't. Thanks for sharing the beers at the end, especially Mike, Sean, Karma and the Ignite boys.
  23. I just opened this thread - I thought it was someone moaning about Cycle Lab again......
  24. I ride for fun, I race to compete with myself and mates. As a single speeder, it's mostly a race against your previous best time, as opposed to racing other riders.
  25. What batch u in Roo?
