  1. ever seen a snake strike? they are blitz fast! no matter where you ride it will either get you or the bike. i've seen a cobra hit the seat of a farm scrambler before! granted the rider was not going to quick, but still faster than we can pedal! if possible stop and go round, if not, lift your legs and pee a little!
  2. @travisza, i've used SRM V5 and V6 in the past. have a SRM V6 on my MTB. i have also used the LOOK power pedals for a month or two. all great powermeters, once you have the LOOK pedals setup they are great! not as easy to use as the P1's though. and batteries for the LOOK pedals and not as simple to change or find. So far i have done around 40 hours on my P1 pedals. i must say swapping from the ultegra pedals to these was a little different. 1. the stack height of the P1's is higher so my saddle had to go up a few mm. 2. at first you definitely do notice that the pedals weigh more that what you are used to. but after some riding this feeling disappears. i do not think the extra weight of the pedals impacts energy expended - however logically the extra weight on your foot requires more energy to turn? as for numbers, they reflect accurately. i didn't see any noticeable difference in swapping over from my SRM V5. i bought these knowing that i can easily swap them from bike to bike never having to worry if they will be compatible. also because they are so easy to live with. a AAA bat is a win!
  3. Seriously loving my set of these! I can recommend them to anyone. Really a top quality product, and ease of use is tops! Can't say the same for the joule head unit, to many software bugs. It just doesn't work with Mac.
  4. those look like they might be a tad heavy on the face...
  5. Just to give you guys an idea. Conditions were cold with hail/rain. nasty mud over slippery roots Not ideal for our boys as its conditions they seldom get to practice in!

  7. Hi all. I live close to the new cyclelab mega store What's the safest route onto the spruit? A few years back I used to go down witkoppen then turn right under the highway bridge. However I got held up there and have yet to go back. Is it still dodgy?
  8. have a look on the side walls, there is a tiny hole on either side of them
  9. Gave the bottle a good shake before adding anything i also used nearly double the recommended amount to help with the initial sealing i did tighten the nut on the tubeless valve pretty tight come to think of it, but finger tight (as tight as i could) there are no spoke holes on the inside of the rim basically the inner rim looks like this: http://twentynineinches.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/P1040109.jpg
  10. surely if they are fully welded there is no need for tape as the welded rim acts as rim tape??
  11. I just the the tubeless conversion on my new mtb. however i am struggling to get the wheels to properly hold air. i have sealant running out of the 2 holes in the sides of the rim and around the valve. a bit of shaking solved the issue but it keeps springing a leak. using stans sealant i opted not to use rim tape due to the "welded rims" http://www.eastoncycling.com/product/ea70-xct-837/ can anyone give me some advice? Thanks
