  1. 1000% agree. the number of close calls when a slower rider deviated off their line as we were passing was unreal. made it unnecessarily dangerous. speed differences at some points must have easily been over 20km/h
  2. Yes. that was us. was not a nice crash. all riders that went down caught a lift to the finish in the ambulance. some are still getting assessed in hospital this morning. we are holding thumbs nothing to serious our team was in purple and blue kit.
  3. One of the guys hit a cateye, bars shot clean out his hands Could have happened to anyone of us
  4. What a great event. this was my first DC and i will definitely be back! La Passione was nice enough to invite me into their team. A great group of riders who brought some serious GEES! Our goal was to finish with all our riders unfortunately we had a bit of an oopsie at 95km which sadly meant 3 members of our team were unable to continue - recovery well boys and girls! overall we were really happy with our result. loved the atmosphere
  5. Sniffles yesterday, bells in my chest this morning. That moved fast
  6. First time riding the race. Is there a service that will be able to lift us from the end of the race back to the start to collect our car?
  7. easy guys. I have not flamed him. I have only stated the end result was not as good as i was expecting based on so many other reviews. I do not think Anton would have shipped the bike out if he was not happy with his work.
  8. 100% i will likely see the bike again in this weekend. i'll take a bunch of pictures and post here
  9. i'll be there!
  10. Hmmm... my dad and i both both a little disappointed in his work on his Look 595. the new paint lines seem shakey and not one clean line. not sure its as good as it could be, but i suppose it is what it is. maybe i'm to much of a perfectionist. i will post a few pictures to show what i mean
  11. i just bought a set of wheels blind from a guy in George. arrived beautifully boxed, exactly as described. passed the facebook, instagram, truecaller and google stalking tests
  12. don't thumb suck how tight to do a bolt i broke a suspension bolt once, total pain in the but as it was just prior to wanting to go ride
  13. Chappies Saturday morning. A real treat for a joburger
  14. Found the issue
  15. that was a lightie riding in AL. strong, went over the top right at the front. maybe pushed a bit to far into the red
  16. I'd say yesterdays route was one of the best I've done in a long while. I found it very entertaining. A good mix of fast sections coupled with a few surprisingly steep hills. As for road surface, it was fairly rough, but not unbearable. I only saw one or 2 small potholes - nothing at all serious. And traffic was minimal. Very impressed with the organisers on that front. Well done. Only one gripe - signs to the toilets all pointed to one set of toilets with only 2 toilets men, 3 for ladies (2 of which I believe were not flushing). I believe there were other toilets around, but there was no obvious signage to them. Buildings one could easily approach from the parking area were all locked. Saw a couple patties in the field after there race were people must have relieved themselves in order to not miss their starts.
  17. i collected my entry yesterday and i saw a few guys filling in forms for a late entry. not sure about on the day though. will be in A group
  18. That looks fantastic patch. A great design. I just sent through those pictures to my old man, his bike is currently getting some subtle bogus treatment to it
  19. Day 3 of a head cold. snot could glue a 747 together
  20. on any other road you would be riding on the side in the dirt.
  21. lol thats my fault. i put a big effort in up that highway 5-6 people then bridged to me, and from there around another 15 or so. bunch really blew up along the highway. tried to jump ahead on the last hill and got caught 300m from the line. got 5th i think. had a blast!
  22. i started a ride in the cradle at 7h30 and it was a cherry 12 degrees. arm warmers, mtb gloves, a light vest and a wind breaker is all that was needed.
  23. absolutely. i was very bleak i could not do both.
  24. i'll be there
