Could anybody please advise me as to where I can obtain city maps or the likes for a Garmin 800. Garmin want to charge R1200.00 which I feel is excessive. Anybody use pirate maps? Suggestions please. Thanks

Yip, and the water paper with final coat (2nd) primer. It worked for me. Also "sanded" down between coats. Also depends on your paint "mix" and any overcoating must be avoided. Just spray one time. My 2c worth and it worked for me.

I just sprayed the undercoat, sanded slightly with high grade w/paper, 2nd coat primer followed by three colour coats. What happened. Come off again?

.I obtained some from Maisey Plastic and they assured me it is what is used on choppers. Did my touring bike with it. Was about R30/m if I remember correctly and this leaves some spare. Damn difficult to apply to a rounded surface though. Clean hands required and patience.

I also did this with an adaptor. Very difficult to find these days and also frame dependant. This is the adaptor I used. Works fine.

Are you sure of this? Until you know the facts, refrain from ad hoc comments. What I am saying - Lights will make you more visible for the driver to see. Makes sense to me. Drivers involved in recent accidents have somewhere along the line said "I did not see him" It should be a rule to ride on a public road with lights. This does not take away the loss and the tragedy involved.

Sad,, very sad. RIP This is not going to stop. Use "nuisance" lights all the time, Day and Night. The brighter the better and more is even better.

Hey Maxis, you must have very decent tarred roads in order to ride that machine to work. Lucky you. Any hills? Nice bike indeed but would not be able to ride it to my work - get killed on the road. Why I ride on pavements and bush.

Happened to me. Tried a new battery but this did not help. I bent the connecting pin inside the battery housing and bobs your uncle. Did phone armin and they are willing to replace my 305 for a 500 for less than R1200 with all the goodies. Don't think it is a good deal though as you cannot flag waypoints. was offered the 800 for R2100.........Just too much for a toy I feel?

"Hijack" Solar charger for the Garmin? Where would I be able to get a charger only without the other goodies which come in the pack? "Hijack off" - just had to try and find out.
