I think as part of all these campaigns and stuff we as cyclist should say IT STARTS WITH ME and pledge to 1 = make ourselves as visible as possible (lights etc) 2= ride in a manner that allows traffic to pass without endangering themselves or others. That does not mean riding single file, circumstances dictate depending on traffic and road conditions, and when traffic approach we will move to the left to assist safe passing 3 = acknowledge that drivers are like us, are also human and can make mistakes therefore rather than self righteously claim we also own the road, take accountability to make sure motorists see us and be pre empt the common mistakes drivers make If we get the above right we can expect motorists to reciprocate, otherwise continue kicking the cans

I agree, there are good and bad taxi drivers, car drivers and cyclist, we all blame each other rather than focus on what we can do right. I agree murder case to be investigated, I agree laws must change but most of all attitudes are the real issue, no authority can fix that Let me ask, and be now dead honest to yourself, how many of us have a habit to look in our left mirror when we turn left into a side road from a single lane road? If you can say yes good for you, if not, we'll sad to say you (me) could well have been that unfortunate taxi driver.

Just chat to the bike shops there they have many group rides and a nice bunch. MTB the best option in fact Rheenendal have some lovely riding if you like to climb

I would say the spriuit is pretty safe, if alone I avoid the part from William Nicol towardsbfourways and mornings better than afternoon, so the stretch from William Nicol/republic up to emmerentia weekend mornings when there are lots of people, as you say you need to dodge walkers, runners and the likes.

Not sure how bad the break is when my wrist broke (only one of the two bones) I managed to convince the fifth doc I pleaded with to remove the cast and I then used those strap on casts which I showered with after training and then put the second dry one on all worked very well and only time I was out of the cast was after shower when I swopped them.q

so perhaps young bubbles is trapped somewhere under a neighbours sprinkler! hope you find him, my cat Tjokkits got lost a couple of times when smaal but at the end resurfcaed after a few days

love my 720 but yes they no longer have spares. I have an additional old one with water damage so they "harvest" workable spares from that one when needed. can not expect them to continue support for such old electronic stuff. would be nice though if they had more outlets that can do repairs like in Midrand its a mission to getnthere and sending in via bikeshop then more than a week without monitor and as per above eg lots gets lost in translation

sorry no bike but now how do they break a bearing, derailers and oher external but bearing? they must have tried hard

local distributors and bike shops will certainly have less of an issue if they up the game on product availability and after sales support, in particular if it is about replacing parts in good time (under warranty or paid) quickly and keep you on your bike. If that works my price elasticity drops

3h37 happy considering lagos lagged, 30k riders messed up sub 3h30 target in last few km's but lekker ride had fun out there the most NB of all

if you look on the internet there are quite a few places to hire but do make sure you go and collect yourself and in good time a fiend of mine ordered a proper mountain bike and when he got to the hotel it was some stupd three speed hybrid and rthe renatl shop closed for the weekend so his whole outing was spoiled may be better to take your own bike when i went with Virgin they were fanstastic
