  1. ag us cyclist darem ma. so before the 94.7 and other big races there are many many not so regular riders that we wish just want to go back to their couches, they tend to be all over the road having a " how am i going to survive the race" chat, when a "sub three er" comes rushing up to them and gets all agro. Yet, most of those people will make space if one indicate you are trying to pass, so what do you have to loose, two seconds? we all just need to grow up and get a life.
  2. and what has the bike shop got to say?
  3. New epic R109 k i saw, rand weakekning and all.
  4. check WITH zaheer KARJIKER he had a pair of dura ace c24 for R7k perhaps you can negotiate with him if he still has them, they are solid wheels and you can be comfortable to deal with him, i bought his C50 wheels and are very happy

  9. After 7 years on my raleigh rc8000 build this, bought wheels on the hub and complete cyclist supplied frame etc
  10. grappeling with same question, thing is at 1.67m tall will need small frame and many says on 29er they dont work out so well, something about the pedal positioning etc, so now i am still on 26er and wait for this whole thing to play out.., but if there are any non trollers who can add value to the debate ould be keen to hear
  11. i see GoG's point but the problem is you will never have proper evidence unless you ride with gopro and are lucky enough to get a shot of the bloke doing it, and yet these plonkers carry on throughing their stuff around and tomorrow we cant ride at those places anymore. there are risks but i will also take my chances and go public, try as hard as you can to get co witnesses, that can help but these idiots can not go unchallenged.
  12. Make sure you go for the right size though.
  13. So how mucwh for the old frame?
  14. details pls, thats my playing ground
  15. also had a chuckle spray powasol (i sommer use the normal cleaner but if you want to spend cash the aerosol degreaser is quicker) on chain and casette/crank, leave for a while the brush off whle rinsing with water, leave outside to dry then lube
  16. generally woman specific is a rip off, more pricey for less value, so with a limited budget go for general and change stems/seats etc to make comfortable
  17. that sounds good now for interest what is the weight diffirence between the carbon and alloy frames? i put my bike through a lot of abuse so was thinking if i can go alu with acceptable weight its a in win, also PM me with the prices you can offer
  18. Yes the newer generation polars one can change batteries yself but the older 720 and 725 take it in and let them waterproof itbagain, i killed my other 720 thinking i could do it myself. Problem is if your housing is stuffed you are stuck bacuase polar dont have spares, intook another housing from an old polar and they could get things going again
  19. I am starting to look at various options for a 29 er with real proper stuff (xtr and the like) trying as close to 10 kg as possible, how likely to achieve with this frame?
  20. Try and reset the thing? Sad thing polar no longer has parts for them. The was a bloke who sold two of them for r2k a few days ago under classifieds, checknif they are still around
  21. perhaps he didnt know the money is mostly for charity, yes a good initiative stood the test of time over many years and contributes meaningflly to the relevant charities
  22. the standard bank is called Cycle for Kids and most of the money is going towards charity. i think its the same ride mentioned above saying they race to maritzburg, they go at speed
