  1. you can get the oc specs on the TACX website
  2. yes its the best investment ive made (i have older model fortuis) you need to budget for a meaty PC too so quite an outlay but will give you happy riding hours for years if you have to the cash go for it
  3. i would be delighted to have a reliable, responsive crowd who can deliver and collect, since i just dont have the time to drop and collect and therefore also not to go the DIY route. I used to have somebody who provided excellent serviceand i supported and recommended him several times on the hub, but unfortunately since about a year or so ago things went off the rails when he became rather unresponsive, workmanship being bad and charging me for parts which he then ends up not replacing... so anybody out there in sandton area please contact me.
  4. we should maybe just chuck some cash into a petty fund and buy them fire wood, so greate goodwill and save the trees, they not there to do bad, just to make a living, like all of us....
  5. argh! same week picked up a troplical nasty in eastern afrika, dropped and destroyed bberry, hubby's car stolen this morning eish eish eish
  6. maybe we should let him be its an easy way to recover stolen bikes
  7. ouchy ouchy here is the friday popcorn feeder
  8. ebay but stick to sellers with good ratings, had a baddy with one guy but thats over 4 years of byuing on ebay. enjoy
  9. so worked my way through almost all winter cloves, again Sat at Breedsnek fingers frosted and huge agony. even mates using skeing cloves had the same. so whats the answer? somebody mentioned sealskinz gloves, anybody with any experience with these?
  10. if the race is so NB to you i dont think you should trust an airline to get your bike a to b day or two ahead of start, palukas are bound to add stress to your life
  11. soft but make sure it can lock out, and dont be shy to get a very proper saddle (test before you spend)
  12. agree. not trying to say its a honest days work but sun/heat/wind/cold day in and out and then remember youve got to be on the job all day every day, not for the money but to keep your "spot". personally i tend to support the ones who non obnoxiousely add some value like take junk from my car, sell a pen or something.
  13. yep. morons one need to take em for granted on the trail, they are there, they excist, they are everywhere, they will spoil your day if you dont watch out
  14. have juicy ultimates and no complaints at all, infact, installed in 2007 and dont think theyve been blead ever. But then put full XT on my hardtail, those brakes are indeed in a class of its own. So juicy not bad (in fact real good) but XT make them look/feel ratheer average.
  15. done the initial one in 2010. well organised and awesome time, but do not underestimate the fact that its still hard work. now have various options like doing only last 6 days, solo riding etc, so very flexible. this year still easy to get entry suspect over time race will become more popular and more difficult to enter.
  16. my experience is most ladies specific saddles are the worse for me, ended with specialised avatar. on my road bike i have sella italia slr ladeis but its quite a hard ride and didnt work so lekker on the MTB. the specialised concept stores have demo models to try out
  17. if one waterpoint on a flat 35km stretch (i.e. 17.5 km in between) dont do it you must invest in a camelpack
  18. this losing weight story is also tjol. a lighter bike handles better on technical stuff, whether you are fat or not, but agree stupid when you start compromising reliability
  19. so like contact the sponsors and give them constructive feedback rather than pissing in public forums. in general the outsurance guys/gals do a great job but logically they wont get it right all the time. i think we all underestimate the complexities of traffic control, at least i think they do miles better than the metro choppies.the outsurance pointmen/ladies its a constructive and positive effort so try and reciprocate. tx and bi
  20. also x king protection and experience the same at low pressure, also quite a job to get them to seat, need a garage pump. enjoying my rocket rons much better
  21. comfort and light. the lighter the bike the easier it also handles, more NB to me than the speed you gain
  22. great stuff evans and george now comfy in second place, well done. burry and sauser decided not to chase today.
  23. so what are the rules if you a) dont make cut off or B) dont finish one day for some reason? is that the end or can you keep on riding but just not get a medal?
  24. first three days are flat but dont let that fool you, little uphills and NO downhills so you peddle all the way. terrain also at parts difficcult ito mud or grass altho i think they sorted some of that from the first year. biggest thing is to be able to spend long hours in the saddle legs turning all the time....go have fun
  25. TTS3 is a real pain and you will spend some time to get it to work. i had the issue when doing the upgrade without unplugging my trainer. try downloading a new version of ffwdshow file, you should find the link somewhere on the tacx forum, sorry can not recall where. otherwise email the tech support, they take a day or so but are helpful, or scrathing around on the forums for people who had similar issues sometimes helps. gluck
