    Anica, this thread will go on for pages today, but i am sure by now you have your answer, and that is by the letter of the law one should stop but common sense add a number of other perspectives. At the end of the day, take accountability for your own and others safety and actions and be a considerate road user.

    Agree here, appropriate time and way of doing it, its when cyclist take no accountability and simply speed over the robot that we get flamed. Its sometimes safer to crawl over than having to fight cars turning left or be forced to wait in the middle of the road fir green and then navigate through cars going left right and straight.     Also missed that bar one, managed to overcome the initial trauma and had a great ride So what ally worked The separate number one stands for the guys The chuck zones brilliant idea They can have more loos, yes still, and spread them out better so you don't have to try and climb over everybody with bike above your head

    May have been L, i lost them as we got to the top of edenburgh but slowed down having to work my way around three recumband bikes in the middle of the road, was about to catch up with them whenthe crash happened looked like a bunch of cyclist in a tumble dryer, really bad, heal up soon to those who camw down

    Traffic on hp is dangerous because the wide shoulder cars and taxis try and pass on the left smashing into cyclist. Turning left out of hp into ondekkers toward johannesburg there was a coupe of hijacks where ondekkers cross the highway, not sure if still a problem. make your way to the cradle thats the safest bet

    Think when buying something expensive get friend or bike shop to check them out, did that when getting my wheels from cape town. Also in fairness to sellers one must inspect stuff when you get it, and raise issues immediately.

    To me littering is amost worse than doping, had many close encounters with offenders getting agro if i take them on. On the other hand, irritation with organisers not leaving dustbins in the shoots so that one can at least not fill your pockets before the ride starts

    Im am not much slower on my 29 er with knobblies 2x10 than on my road bike, so with slicks you should be able to have a decent enough time. Think that highway part after climb in constantia you may spin out so train your cadence...

    also want to know, what i did see, year before last i accidentally applied for a racing licence and ended up seeded with elelite ladies, way out of my league so i suspect you get into one of those early bnches. but lets see what the know hows say
