  1. Only in the US Rest of the works remains at the normal cut off.
  2. I spray the MuckOff Electric spray in there every time I wash he bike .. so far so good ... not sure if its the right things to do? If anyone can advise?
  3. Ebikes are for looser who have lost the will to live. They don't belong on the trails, and if you old you should not be on a bike if you can't pedal it uphill. And what's the point of riding down a hill on a ebike. even the Roof of Africa is lame... motorized bikes riding up and down hills. Or ... ride what you want and stop caring what people on this very judgmental forum think. Live your life and if riding a ebike in a enduro will put a smile on your face...do it.
  4. Postnet to Ground shipping. Takes a few days.... just make sure it's not fully charged ... I sent mine from job to Cape Town with 20% charged , ground shipping. I have often sent my whole bike with battery from one spec store to another via ground ...
  5. Thank you for that. It seems like the kicker core will do the trick. Is that new orange thing the new ones come with worth it ? seems it just replaces the cassette. and can simulate 8 to 12 speed cassettes ?
  6. I need some advice on a smart trainer and the use of one. My needs are rather basic, I have no desire to race people online. but I do want something where I can monitor my power and cadence. One of my needs is to be able to set say a 50 min ride at 220W and the trainer will provide 220 of resistance to achieve that. I also like the idea of going on a virtual ride that will simulate a climb or even long zone 2 session on the saddle and adjust power to keep me in zone 2 There are a few Kicker Core units for sale in the classifieds and not sure if this base model will be able to do this or I need the next one up? Is there anything I need to be aware of when purchasing any of the units, second hand or not in the kicker core range? Any advice will be appreciated. This is all new to me. Ta
  7. I sold my bike with an upgraded Lyric 3.1 charger damper. I still have the Select plus charger damper. Does anyone know if this will fit in a RS 35 ? to replace the Motion control system ? Same travel forks ?
  8. Best trail at the moment in my opinion is Murate. with the new additions it is riding spectacular. Murant did an absolute stellar job there and I keep going back
  9. If your motor is still under warranty and it fails, it will be replaced very quickly. I think the longest had to wait for a new motor was 2 hours. However, if the warranty is over you have two options. Purchase a new motor with a specialized assist option which reduces the new motor price (about 22k) to lower amount (a fair offer savings from specialized) . Or send it to PE to refurbished with better seals, stronger sprag clutch and thicker more robust belt for about 12k - this is the company https://www.ebikemotorcentre.com/brose-motor-upgrade-service/ And this is the SA representative- www.ebiketechservices.co.za Either way it's going to cost. I would personally go with the second option as the motor will come back better than a new one from specialized, but you won't have the new warranty that comes with a new motor. That just how my mind works. other people might have different options
  10. Will be heading to Fugitives drift the weekend and wondering if anyone has dome some riding there? Are the trails worth taking the bike all the way? Have done the battlefield tours many times so though while my group does those I can get a cycle in.
  11. I think this is where the problem starts.... Online stores selling items like this and stating they are MTB E-Bikes.....
  12. Also did it have cranks or foot pegs?
  13. Firstly - if it is throttle assist then it should not be on the trail. And if it is a normal ebike (peddle assist) , Id like to know how they ruining the trail? Are they spinning wheels out going uphill and roosting? Are they skidding into corners? and dragging there brakes at every opportunity? Are the bikes just to heavy and causing premature wear? Are they just going to fast? Curious about this.
  14. Would love to know where this trail is?
  15. That frame is only 100G heavier than my Ibis Mojo C in large. should be easy to get a 12kg bike
  16. Should be possible, I converted mine to activate a dropper post, so a remote lockout might work. although I removed the click click bits and it just turned freely for the dropper.
  17. Can Anyone recommend a good wheel builder in Cape Town? And does anyone have any experience with the Lyne Carbon rims (AMP/Enduro)?
  18. My experience of fox: 1. the air shaft comes from the factory with way to much grease... do a air shaft service and use the correct amount of slick honey. 2. on 2 sets of fox I had the fork bushing were way to tight. I sent them in to Push to be corrected and came back smooth as silk. Not sure if Stoke or RBC can sort out tight bushing for you? Yes my RS have always felt way better out the box. but get the Fox sorted and its brilliant.
  19. Ill have to keep my eyes open then on Sunday. Just this one little pond that is rather mank though next to the bricked road.
  20. Rode there last weekend and the trails are really riding well.(Great work B'sorah team) My only complaint and its a very small one... is that there is no access to a water spot to swim in the summer heat. But the cold drinks at the well stocked shop make up for it.
  21. Ive never had a chainring wear a chain...but I have had a chain wear a chainring... I just had to replace my chainring yesterday as when I put a new chain and cassette on the chainring was making a horrible grinding noise (yes it squeaky clean) New steel chainring and its as smooth as new bike.
  22. Fully agree with that ... I also fine I get about 50% more millage form a X.O chain that a GX chain. Not sure if it's just me and the extra wear a ebike puts the chains through. (and I replace between 0.5 and 0.6) I use an app called MainTrack that links with my strava where I can track the millage and hours or every separate component on the bike. So I can see exactly the millage Im getting for my chains and cassettes.
  23. But according to the judgemental folk on this forum, Ebikers are fat, lazy and have no skills and no right to enjoy the outdoors on one, so to even suggest that one could actually hit a jump is blasphemy. I better go inform folks like Fabian Barel and Nicola Vouilloz , In fact every Professional EWS-E rider that they fat and lazy, and what's the point of of riding a uphill power stage when you have a motor OK- Rant over. I will continue to ride my ebike and my Alanloge and you can think what you want. It's my life, you don't know my story and I don't care to have to explain myself. Back to the Main topic ... Unrestricted on public trails, I don't agree with. Riding ebikes I do ... It's gotten me back into the sport. and I'll continue to do so for as long as it brings me enjoyment.
