  1. As well ... had one or two moments but more often than not theres been a friendly wave of hands in apology. Now for other motorists it's generally the other way around, notably soccer moms and gents in their luxury saloon cars.
  2. Thaba or Wopper's farm.
  3. Ja you're quite right actually. Though when an oke sets hiimself up ...... Anyhow, I just had a decent *** and am over it now.
  4. I commute 2-3 times a week with my car, on my own. Sometimes more. More often than not with the bike on the back ... is that ok with you? Can I still do so guilt free? Everybody lies.
  5. Some okes are just natural testosterone fuelled qwams. Had a similar thing when cycling home, another rider came up at a set of red lights in Randburg. Glanced at me then rode across the red lit intersection. I quietly said "It IS still red buddy" ... Oke turned round with a sneer like face and threw his water bottle at me, expensive camelbak one too. Not being one to litter I put it in the rubbish bin next to the robots. But yeah, would be interesting to hear the other side of the story. Although seriously, people here are so aggro on the roads. From a verbal exchange to physically kicking a guy's car?
  6. Here you go. If you can find a pair is another thing though, but well worth the search if you do. http://www.euroasiaimports.com/productcart/pc/catalog/m750_1725_general.jpg http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/files/ns3i2119_165.jpg
  7. Okes don't have a knee jerk reaction. I commute almost daily along there, with alternating times and routes. Like any other suburban ride, keep aware and keep each other informed. The above incident sucks for sure, but no ways will I let that interrupt me.
  8. .... Mind you, didn't seem to mind much did ya! To think I arrived just to support and take pikchas, next thing I end up riding....
  9. Sucks, although it wouldn't put me off riding the Spruit. What were the comments in Zulu? Like Patches I normally find the vagrants friendly and often there are ZCC gatherings, imo I think these actually add to the safety. This must be the first incident in long long time. Would be interesting to find out about the MTB police patrols, they were on voluntary basis before, driven by two inspectors. As I understand it. Have seen horse patrols on occasion though.
  10. Standard RavX or BBB pads. Looking around 70-80 rondt a pair, depending if you opt for dual compound or not. Kool Stop pads if you're into the bling thing and have cash to splash.
  11. Tres frikkin awesome!
  12. Bloody hell
  13. A danger, how so? I mean he isn't on a blind rise or corner, has parked obtrusively and is visible. Plus there is a very clear space still for cyclists to commute.
  14. ... especially with that huge gap there!
  15. Recovery recovery recovery, so getting enough sleep is vital. Supplements wise, there's plenty out there, Just have to find what works for you. Which means trial and error. Personally I'm sold on the Epic Pro, expensive initially but I find I don't use the full serving suggestion, so it lasts me a fair while.
  16. Looks like we didn't manage to get a team together, what with deadlines etc .... Will still be there supporting though!
  17. They do? It is? .... No shop, well known or otherwise is perfect. People have good and bad experiences with all of them. Like anything else we deal with.
  18. It was the editorial topic one or two issues back. Not really outsourced, it's custom published now and while the editorial staff no longer seem to be there. It is still run by the same editor and has pretty the same contributor list. Will be interesting to see what direction it takes from here, seemed to be very much an Anatomic supplement for a long time and I suppose to a large extent was most likely subsidised by that part of the business.
  19. Seen their signage once or twice. Must stop in.
  20. Awesome news indeed! ... To think there were so many naysayers a few years ago who said S.A. would never feature in the world stage of MTB!
  21. Seiko looks classy Thug, bit o character too.
  22. Took a few quick shots of the watches I dug up. Passed on from my pops, sentimental attachment more than anything Long service Pulsar Also a service award, needs some serious refurbishment though. Ye olde Polar X-trainer My newest/newer Polar Shall be looking at a few timepieces this month, something a little more formal ....
  23. I had a Bridgestone with Tange tubing ... *nostalgia*
  24. Actually this thread inspired me to start wearing a watch again. Battery died on my Polar about 4 month ago and I just never bothered. Dug out some old watches, one which need SERIAS refurb... shall post pics later...
