  1. Guys who bring in Whyte are really jacked up so your backup should be really good.
  2. Collected from Hairy (CT) on Wednesday and delivered to my office on Monday morning. Would have been Saturday but I took the day off. Hairy did a great job of packing the bike.
  3. DCB - R450.00. Great service, highly recommended!
  4. DCB quoted R450.00.
  5. rad, you back?
  6. PO will be a last resort. I would actually like can want to ride the bike.
  7. Recently bought a single speed from Hairy. The transport that was arranged to bring to Joburg as hand luggage will unfortunately take a little longer than expected. Does anyone have any recommendations on couriers to courier the bike? Any estimates of cost? Thanks.
  8. Anyone know anything about the short stretch of bike lane down Rabie Dr? Any other bike lanes around Jhb?
  9. Reinol, best handcleaner I have ever used. http://www.reinol.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=37&Itemid=54
  10. Linda Hodson 082-858-4268 Cyclist and the Sani2C runs through her parents' farm so she can give you a heads up on what to expect. She's in Greenside.
  11. Your problem with using a clip on chain cleaner is that your are running your chain over dirty sprockets and chain rings. You'll also need to use the scrubber a few times rinsing in between for it to work effectively. Scrubbers and bottles both have their pros and cons. Try them out for yourself.
  12. Why did you want to change it?
  13. Placed a big order a year back. They had to split into 2 boxes as there was a bike stand which was seperate. Our dear friends at SAPO decided they would charge me the full rate for each package. If I wanted to dispute it they could send the second package back to their distribution centre so they could open it and assess that it was in fact a duplication of the VAT. This would take between 4 and 6 weeks. I took my stuff, paid the additional VAT and sent CRC a mail with all the paperwork and proof of payments. All the additional costs refunded within 2 days.
  14. I would love to see a 10sp dual control but somehow dont reckon that we'll ever see that.
  15. I hope you get some clarity on the issue. On a side note, anyone seen the interview with Brendan Venter a couple of weeks back. Absolute classic.
  16. I wonder where on the waiting list he was to get an entry?
  17. Around $1700.00 for a Rohloff which weighs more, has poorer gear ratios and has less bling factor. I think these will go fast and the price will come down if they prove themselves and start being manufactured in numbers. Wonder how much hydraulic brakes cost when they first came out?
  18. I use an Oregon 300 which is the somewhat like the Dakota. Has a great bicycle mount. This is more a pukka gps than a bicycle computer with a gps built in and mapping. I use it on my bike, car, hiking and just about anywhere. I have a Suunto hrm hence I didnt need another hrm although you can use the garmin hr belt. Its a bit bigger but the screen is great. Much better as an all round unit but if you're using it specifically on the bike go for the edge. Oh, another reason why I wanted the Oregon is that it uses AA batteries. Doing multidays and overnight trails, it makes it handy to be able to keep spare batteries which you can just change over.
  19. Did an organised outride down to the trails above Boven, about 50 kays with great single track loops once you're there. Another shorter lop in the estate which was brilliant. Food great, staff super friendly. Gets my thumbs up.
  20. Morewood no longer making Shova or Mbuzi?
  21. Just joined up a green renewable energy company. We are urgently looking for a draughtsman. He/she must be able to rok in autocad and hopefully solid edge. Needs a strong understanding of mechanical structures. Personality and an ability to fit in with the culture is key, by that I mean a neurotic caged lion hunter might not be suitable for the job as might be a person who is in to V8 drag racing. If there are any junior mech engineers out there interested in getting involved with a company wanting to change the world give me shout.
  22. Your bike is a beautiful steed. Just looking at it will make you want to saddle up.
